Endless Ends

It has pale pink bucket seats!!!

Jenny. I am awed by your verve.

Do you coordinate outfits for driving? I fear I would be compelled to do so….

After a long arduous drive I am now home. With food, from a favorite restaurant. I am now settling in to relax and watch….well, whatever my rather capricious internet will allow. :p

^^^ Ha! I was thinking of watching that tonight too, but I changed to What about Bob? instead.

Ha!!! I watched that on U-Tube a year or so ago and had never seen it before.

I've seen it a couple of times when I was quite young. This was a retrospective, and it did not disappoint. Except, I will say, the 'teenagers' in the group, who seemed quite sophisticated when first viewed - if a little out of date - now seem about twelve. :p

So, The Awesome:
-The disclaimer in the front say events and names of all people are true!
-"The paaaaaain. The pain of being dead.”
-The sound track enhanced the movie - and I'm not musically inclined.
-Legwarmers!!! (I am now in search of a pair.)

Things Learned:
-Retort = the chamber where the cremation of the body of the deceased takes place.
-Ein Betrunken Soldat means a drunk soldier in German.
-True love (or altruism) = immolating yourself.
-Linnea Quigle, while terribly sexy, was an equally terrible actress. 😂

Questions:
-Did the release of the toxins in the air cause the rainstorm?

Blasts From the Past:
-Members only Jackets! (I don't really know why, but I know they were cool.)

Visuals:
- The plume from the crematorium (scary biscuits prophetic!)
- Basement zombie. *shudder*
- The torso zombie.

Totally worth the watch. :cattail:

This whole Halloween commentary has set me thinking. I adore Halloween. It blossoms joy. Yet the last three years I haven’t been able to celebrate.

2018 - chaos
2019 - unexpected surgery
2020 - pandemic

That’s it. I’m done. It’s time to reclaim Halloween.

I am going to commission one hella costume.

As soon as I think of one.

And as soon as I drop this pesky ten pounds. Yikes. 😳

Next up, Equoid. By Charles Stross.

A past Hugo winner in the short story category. Horror, with a thread of humorous Lovecraftian overtones. (I don't really think of Lovecraft as humorous, but okay.)

I've been told it's quite good.

We. Shall. See.

I have ideas

Well, starting with the idea of filminess. I admit it is not much developed beyond that

True.

I like to do sexy, which seems counterintuitive because it's me we're talking about after all. 😂

Sexy and in theme - Halloween theme - but also a little different if possible…..

I guess I did kinda figure harem pants. You can make up for any non-Halloween-ness of the costume by doing up your face in an way that is appropriate to the occasion

Idk, that^ just sounds lazy. :p

I'm vaguely toying with the idea of a mummy. Tight wrapped bandages (so body con), and with gaps between some of the bandages (so skin). It would have to be some sort of dusky blue or something. Any flavor of white just washes me right out.

I'm not sure what I could do with my hair, though.

Needs more thought.

Elvira is the bomb, but I don't think I could pull her off. Besides, there's sexy and then there's trying not to fall out of your dress all night. 😂

Errr…umm…there is definitely a limit to how *sexy* I am willing to be.

Besides, I'd rather not get arrested!

Yikes!
