Endless Ends

It's playing in all the theatres here. So you should still be able to see it in the theatre.
Oh! Still in theaters? I'm not as late as thought. You know, for once. 😂

“Not the bees!!!”
I bet you’ve seen the famous meme from it. It has Cage at his Cagiest.
I had not.

But I have know. :p

I think . . . tonight . . . I may watch The Witch (2025).

That would be instead of tomorrow night. Just in case it's not my favorite. That way there is zero chance The Big Night might be sullied.

#alwaysthinking

🎃😝🎃

Also, I expect this to be good, @hotwords229_A. 🧙‍♀️🔪
I have stated that a lot of people don’t like it.
So keep that in mind.
Personally, I think it’s pretty great.
It’s definitely Eggers best movie, which isn’t saying much.
I’m very interested in what you think.

I am excited to view!

Have I mentioned that it's almost Halloween? It's almost Halloween!

*bounces*

:p

The Witch (2015).

This was way better than Nosferatu (2024 ). Which, in my opinion was a fresh new horror of its own, that had nothing to do with the original story, unless you count butchering a classic. 🤣

The photography was lovely and surreal. I'm an Anya Taylor-Joy fan. The storyline itself was not uninteresting. In fact, it put some of the religious fanaticism of the time in a different light. But - It was just so grim.

His stuff, to me, is vaguely reminiscent of M. Knight Shyamalan. Dark, and offbeat, without the more uplifting elements.

It may be that I'm just not a Robert Eggers fan. 🤷‍♀️

Loved this! This ended up being the only Eggers movie I wanted to watch more than once and it's so so good (to me).

(Not just because Ralph Ineson is so good at chopping wood)

Great worldbuilding and dread and the scene with Caleb unravels and concludes so brilliantly. Can watch it over and over.
There's a really good feeling of disconnection and exposure throughout this which is really nudges the dread levels up nicely.

Thank you for putting this back in my mind!

Also, during my internet wanderings, I came across this little gem.

Wuthering Heights: The House of the Damned (2006)

This seems almost sacrilegious. However, considering the atrocities that have been littering our screens as of late - looking a you, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey (2023).

It has a 7.7 IMBD rating! 😲

Of course, that's only about 130 ratings, so . . . .

Nosferatu was a crime against the world. So very awful. 😂

The Witch was different. Not what I was expecting. Not bad, but not great either. I agree with it feeling dark.

I was not going to make a call or comment on The VVitch until you saw it.
I know it is not everyone's cup of tea and it was not mine either.

But it is a divisive film and know some people love it.

ETA: not an Eggers or 'slow build' fan.

I had never heard of this movie until I saw your post a few minutes ago.
Now look what's happened.
