I now want a lovely set of square bottomed, crystal coupe glasses.

Is this practical? Not really. I rarely have cocktails and certainly not often enough to justify the purchase a set of square bottomed, crystal coupe glasses. Which I will then have to store somewhere.

Yet . . . I still want them.

I'm staying in and experience an incredibly low-key type of Halloween, sadly.

However, PBS has this series called Monstrum. It's all about monsters and the history and legends that surround, including how their influence on culture. There are several seasons with creatures I've never heard of, which makes me all kinds of thrilled.

I'm currently watching the special, The Killer Origins of the Werewolf.

While aware the Epic of Gilgamesh is the oldest surviving great work of literature, I somehow managed to not realize it pre-dated the bible.

It even has its own Great Flood which most likely influenced the story in the old testament.

Plus - history is taught in a horrible fashion in the US. I’m still learning that many things are connected that I didn’t realize.

Is it? That makes me feel slightly better. My historical knowledge jumps around in nonlinear fashion rather than segueing in any type of timeline.

You know how everyday words can sound funny in an unusual context or different accent?

Today, I was coming out of the store as there were two women talking near the front entrance. One was sitting in her parked car, the other, standing and chatting through the window. The upright woman had a very strong Texas accent.

The partial phrase, "That boudoir was all red -," caught my attention.

Boudoir. It sounded like Boo-dwaaaaaaaa-er.

I don't know why, but it sounded so completely bizarre! I nearly did a double take.
