2. Do you (generally) dress fancy or casual?

3. Do you smoke? Did you smoke?

4. What do you do that is creative?

5. Married or Single?

7. Favorite genre of story (book/movie/both)?

9. Do you (generally) swear openly in public?

10. Do you take the easy parking space or the wait for the perfect one?

11. Someone zooms past you on the highway are you pissed or unfazed (assuming you were in no danger)?

12. At a party, skinny-dipping breaks out, do you leave, strip down, or stay and creepily check out everyone's stuff?

13. You're walking through a neighborhood at night, you notice a super hot guy or girl absentmindedly taking their clothes off in front of their bedroom window, do you stay and watch, or keep walking while constantly glancing up, or look away and hope they would afford you the same privacy?

14. The phone rings, do you feel excited or hesitant (assuming you're not expecting any particular news)?

15. What are you afraid of?

13. You're walking through a neighborhood at night, you notice a super hot guy or girl absentmindedly taking their clothes off in front of their bedroom window, do you stay and watch, or keep walking while constantly glancing up, or look away and hope they would afford you the same privacy? If I glance up and notice I’ll keep on walking but will probably glance that way again.

14. The phone rings, do you feel excited or hesitant (assuming you're not expecting any particular news)? Hesitant due to so many telemarketer calls.

15. What are you afraid of? Crazy women with knives and I’m speaking from experience.

Watch for a minute out of shock and then move on.

14. The phone rings, do you feel excited or hesitant (assuming you're not expecting any particular news)? Never hesitant, only excited if expecting a call from a certain person, so usually no emotion about the ring in the first place.

15. What are you afraid of? Women with cast iron skillets that I just pissed off.

Okay, one last attempt . . .

There seem to be a lot of new people on Lit lately, so let's get to know each other. Feel free to add questions:

1. Do you walk fast or slow?
context dependent, but I have short legs, so even my fast walk would be slow for someone taller than me

2. Do you (generally) dress fancy or casual? casual

3. Do you smoke? Did you smoke?
No. Well, I did smoke that joint at my daughter's house, but it didn't really affect me, does that count?

depends on who's there, but probably leave

13. You're walking through a neighborhood at night, you notice a super hot guy or girl absentmindedly taking their clothes off in front of their bedroom window, do you stay and watch, or keep walking while constantly glancing up, or look away and hope they would afford you the same privacy?
I would avert my gaze and walk faster, in order to escape the temptation to look

14. The phone rings, do you feel excited or hesitant (assuming you're not expecting any particular news)?
annoyed, because it's almost certainly spam

15. What are you afraid of?
I'm not telling you, because I don't feel like getting another one of your happy-go-lucky little pep talks
.....

12. At a party, skinny-dipping breaks out, do you leave, strip down, or stay and creepily check out everyone's stuff? I assume I like the people I'm at the party with (or I wouldn't be there) so I'm going balls out naked :D

13. You're walking through a neighborhood at night, you notice a super hot guy or girl absentmindedly taking their clothes off in front of their bedroom window, do you stay and watch, or keep walking while constantly glancing up, or look away and hope they would afford you the same privacy? This actually happened to me. I showed some of the most self-control I've ever had and I kept walking (without looking), but I really, really, really wanted to watch her.

14. The phone rings, do you feel excited or hesitant (assuming you're not expecting any particular news)? Always hesitant.

15. What are you afraid of? Loss of a loved one.

They feel disingenuous when you haven't taken the time to listen, understand, and validate the other person first.

Noted. If I come off as disingenuous, then I'm sorry. You could always try ignoring me. I usually try to point out that I don't know anything, but if I can make someone feel better for ten seconds of their life then that's cool. If I can't, then at least I tried.

But, if you want me to leave you alone then I will, with no hard feelings at all. :rose::heart::rose:

I don't want to ignore you, and I don't want you to leave me alone. I like you! :) And you know lots of things, you really ought to stop selling yourself short.

But you can try better. You can listen better. You can learn to be still and not say anything at all, and just hold someone's hand or give them a (consensual) hug instead. People don't always need you to say the perfect thing, they just need you to take the time to show them that you care. Because I know you do.:rose::rose::kiss:

That's all real life stuff and, believe it or not, in real life I rarely speak. All I do is listen, absorb and observe; and I'm a big hand-holding, hugging, listening kind of guy. Online that doesn't work at all. Here, all I can be is words, otherwise I don't exist. So I'm not following your logic. But we've had this conversation before and apparently we don't see eye to eye, which is fine--it's what makes us cool.

From now on, I'll be very cautious about trying to cheer you up :);)

Words can be actions. You exist through your actions and how you treat other people. :)

Don't try to cheer me up, I want to be accepted the way that i am, and some days that is depressed or anxious. Just come sit next to me on this park bench and say hello to my dogs. 🐶🐶

Okay.

:)

This one is Major. He's a blonde German Shepherd, high energy level, very friendly. Watch out, he'll jump up on you if he likes you, sorry.

This one is Millie. She's a brindle Staffordshire Terrier, much more mellow than Major. She's also got one brown eye and one blue!

We found them wandering the streets in bad shape - hungry and unkempt. But the vet says they seem to be very healthy and they have lovely personalities, so we're keeping them.

Would you like to brush Major? He loves belly rubs, too. :)

Again...voyeur.

14. The phone rings, do you feel excited or hesitant (assuming you're not expecting any particular news)?
Annoyed....

15. What are you afraid of?
Losing someone close to me.

I am loving these people who admit to swearing in public and are unapologetic about it.

That makes me a little warm under the collar.

Okay, one last attempt . . .

There seem to be a lot of new people on Lit lately, so let's get to know each other. Feel free to add questions:

1. Do you walk fast or slow?
Entirely dependent on the situation. If I have somewhere to be, I'll walk quickly. If I'm not on a schedule, I like to look around and take things in.

2. Do you (generally) dress fancy or casual?
Again, it depends. I have to dress professionally for work, but if I'm not there, it's workout attire, or jeans and t-shirts etc.

3. Do you smoke? Did you smoke?
I don't. There was a time.

4. What do you do that is creative?
I like gardening/landscaping. I like arranging plants and flowers in my yard to have something nice to look at throughout the seasons and blooming/coloring cycles. I like building pergolas, rock wall flower beds, water features etc.

5. Married or Single?
Married

6. Kids? (how many)?
Two

7. Favorite genre of story (book/movie/both)?
Book: Drama, Fiction, Biographies. Movies: Any

8. Dog person or Cat person?
Dog!

9. Do you (generally) swear openly in public?
I try not to. I'm generally respectful of other people, children etc. in private, that's a whole different story.

10. Do you take the easy parking space or the wait for the perfect one?
Whatever is available.... I'm not afraid to walk.

11. Someone zooms past you on the highway are you pissed or unfazed (assuming you were in no danger)?
I may or may not have a lead foot, so that's most likely me zooming. If not though, it doesn't bother me at all.

12. At a party, skinny-dipping breaks out, do you leave, strip down, or stay and creepily check out everyone's stuff?
If I'm not joining in, which is most likely, I'm watching.

13. You're walking through a neighborhood at night, you notice a super hot guy or girl absentmindedly taking their clothes off in front of their bedroom window, do you stay and watch, or keep walking while constantly glancing up, or look away and hope they would afford you the same privacy?
I'd like to think I'd respect privacy, but in reality, I'd be probably stealing glances.

14. The phone rings, do you feel excited or hesitant (assuming you're not expecting any particular news)?
I think it's probably a work carryover, since I get the feeling of 'what now'.

15. What are you afraid of?
I wouldn't say afraid, but I don't like spiders. They are soulless evil creatures. Ok, maybe afraid...

.....

1. Do you walk fast or slow? Medium. Long legs.

2. Do you (generally) dress fancy or casual? Both. Depends upon the occasion.

3. Do you smoke? Did you smoke? Sometimes.

5. Married or Single? Divorced. Living with The BF.

6. Kids? (how many)? One of my own, two that are his.

11. Someone zooms past you on the highway are you pissed or unfazed (assuming you were in no danger)? Oh God today I almost got in fight on the turnpike. Like a fist fight.

12. At a party, skinny-dipping breaks out, do you leave, strip down, or stay and creepily check out everyone's stuff? None of the above. Tank top and panties till persuaded otherwise.

13. You're walking through a neighborhood at night, you notice a super hot guy or girl absentmindedly taking their clothes off in front of their bedroom window, do you stay and watch, or keep walking while constantly glancing up, or look away and hope they would afford you the same privacy? I'd walk sloooowly.

14. The phone rings, do you feel excited or hesitant (assuming you're not expecting any particular news)? Hesitant. Argh! Unless it's ****.

15. What are you afraid of? Spiders, being trapped, driving my car into the water, and raging intoxicated men.

How'd I do?

You did great. But your an overachiever so why wouldn't you??? ;):D

Okay, one last attempt . . .

There seem to be a lot of new people on Lit lately, so let's get to know each other. Feel free to add questions:

1. Do you walk fast or slow?
I walk fast but with short legs.
2. Do you (generally) dress fancy or casual?
Casual but nice. Quirky.
3. Do you smoke? Did you smoke?
No. Please don't smoke. If you've ever watched someone you love dying of lung cancer, you understand why I say that. If you haven't, ask me what it's like.
Spoiler alert, it's god fucking awful.

4. What do you do that is creative?
I write, I paint, I do not sing.
5. Married or Single?
Both. My marriage has ended, the official paperwork still needs to be done. Lawyers complicate things.
6. Kids? (how many)?
Yes. 2, they're incredible
7. Favorite genre of story (book/movie/both)?
Fun stuff. Depends on my mood though. I like happy endings.
8. Dog person or Cat person?
Dogs. I like cats but am allergic so I can't spend enough time with them to make friends.
9. Do you (generally) swear openly in public?
Yes. I'm working on that.
10. Do you take the easy parking space or the wait for the perfect one?
Usually I park a bit away so that i have to walk a bit, unless it's freezing. I hate cold. The space doesn't have to be perfect.
11. Someone zooms past you on the highway are you pissed or unfazed (assuming you were in no danger)?
I drive too fast. It's probably me.
12. At a party, skinny-dipping breaks out, do you leave, strip down, or stay and creepily check out everyone's stuff?
I've done the stripping down jumping in thing, though it was to panties not naked. I'm kind of shy but I do like to have fun
13. You're walking through a neighborhood at night, you notice a super hot guy or girl absentmindedly taking their clothes off in front of their bedroom window, do you stay and watch, or keep walking while constantly glancing up, or look away and hope they would afford you the same privacy?
I'll glance. I'm not going to stare.
14. The phone rings, do you feel excited or hesitant (assuming you're not expecting any particular news)?
Lately I am always expecting bad news (There's a lot of stuff going on that is not happy in my world) so unless I'm expecting a call from a friend, I am hesitant.
15. What are you afraid of? Clowns. Spiders. Clowns in spider costumes. Spider clowns.
Never feeling happy again. Staying broken. That this (tolerating things for brief moments of happy) is all there is to life. [

I have basically been told to "snap out of it and find something to distract myself with" so I'll give this a shot. :) Something simple and fun right? Easy is good.

1. Do you walk fast or slow? Fast because I'm on the short side with a tall husband, so I'm usually just trying to keep up.

2. Do you (generally) dress fancy or casual? Fancy at work. Casual fancy in social situations. Hard core casual at home.

3. Do you smoke? Did you smoke? I smoke pot. In college, I went through a cigarette phase that was pretty much driven by having a boyfriend who was in a band and smoked. Luckily, I never really got hooked and it was easy to stop.

4. What do you do that is creative? I used to paint. But I haven't done anything new in a few years.

5. Married or Single? Married.

6. Kids? (how many)? No kiddos.

7. Favorite genre of story (book/movie/both)? As I get older, I find that I like a really good biography. And whatever genre Neil Gaiman represents...fantasy sci fi?

8. Dog person or Cat person? Who's a good boy? Who's a good boooooooy? Dogs.

9. Do you (generally) swear openly in public? No, not typically. I'm not a prude about it - I just think it's good manners to watch your mouth.

10. Do you take the easy parking space or the wait for the perfect one? If there's a close spot, I'll take it. But I'm not going to circle and sit with my blinker on waiting for someone else to leave.

11. Someone zooms past you on the highway are you pissed or unfazed (assuming you were in no danger)? Game on - let's race.

12. At a party, skinny-dipping breaks out, do you leave, strip down, or stay and creepily check out everyone's stuff? I'm in!

13. You're walking through a neighborhood at night, you notice a super hot guy or girl absentmindedly taking their clothes off in front of their bedroom window, do you stay and watch, or keep walking while constantly glancing up, or look away and hope they would afford you the same privacy? I'd walk slooooooooooooooowly with Trekka.

14. The phone rings, do you feel excited or hesitant (assuming you're not expecting any particular news)? Usually annoyed.

15. What are you afraid of? Illness. Financial ruin. Snapping turtles. Mike Pence.
