Empires of Sun and Moon:: Late Night Planning and Chat

So I used to do a lot of the innocent role playing in public forums, before I discovered you could do the naughty kind here, hehe! There was a story idea that I've remembered from years ago. It had so much potential to grow into something steamy, but of course posting the story in a "clean" forum didn't allow the rp to flourish like it should have. I figured I could try planning it again here for fun, at night <3 Please excuse my spelling it can be awful sometimes... but...

Feel free to chat with me as I plan and figure out how the forum works ;} I'm sure its simular to many forums out there~

Genre: Sci-fi, Fantasy, sometimes silly~ but down right steamy...

Story Concept in a nutshell:

The gods have interveined knowing the awful fate awaiting humans if they continued consuming all their resources and multiplying uncontrolably. Earth was unsustainable... soooo the world was basically renewed, everything wiped away and cleaned, the continents have shifted into new exotic lands and resources... not only that, magic exists again... and unicorns!!! Yay unicorns!

But humans had a hard time agreeing on how the world should be run... naturally the differences between men and women were so great they decided to seperate the sexes into two great empires, the Empire of Sun for men and the Empire of Moon for women. Of course there are several gods and goddesses that had a hand in this new chapter for the human race, all in good fun though; and it's even more fun for the players at stake...

There are a number of silly rules and regulations that keep the waring empires at peace which will be fleshed out. In general everyone keeps to their side of the earth, and anyone found in the wrong kingdom can be captured and held prisoner until the anual jail break. I suppose its a bit like capture the flag but with people. Hehe! The empress and emporer of each kingdom like a bit of friendly competition, who has the most prisoners, who has the best of everything, etc... Anyway you might wonder how they keep populations up, well there are special holidays where everyone gathers, it is declared peace time, and copulation may occur freely without being frowned upon. For women this is easy, they could go on without sex for an indefinate time but for men they go nuts during the holidays.


Okay that's it for now. I know I described it kind of silly but theres just so much detail to flesh out. Hopefully I can continue this and get the rping going, it's meant to be fun for multiple players<3

Hmm, sounds interesting and I believe it has some points that can be expanded upon into different areas of politics and things like that.

But the general theme of the idea appeals to me, and I'm interested to see if fleshed (hurr hurr) out even more.

Earth as we know it has been transformed into a wonderous place, so clean and pure that magic has returned to bless the land. Stories tell, that long ago the choas of our modern day world insighted the gods to intervein. They destroyed everything... and survivers of the human race were left to start again. Those ancestors are the legacy of the Empires of Sun and Moon. To the East rises the Empire of the Sun where the men dominate in all the glory of the Sun God; and to the West flourishes the Empire of the Moon where the women bask in the mysteries of the Moon Goddess. It has come this, the divide between the sexes, into two mighty empires. Power struggles between the empires creates an undercurrent of rivalry that keeps the people on gaurd.

The world exists as follows... the continents have shifted into new lands and bodies of waters (that I have yet to come up with). The western half of the world belongs to the women and the eastern to the men. The divide is equal, although war over a few territories have yet to be resolved.

Cities have been built in places you could only dream of. Women have taken to the skies, famed for harnessing magic and science to create their capital Lunadine which floats above the center of their empire. Pristine white collums, delicate sheets of glass and precious metals and stones decorate their architecuture. They also have cities in the mountains, below the oceans and along the shore. Do not be fooled by the delicate grace of the Moon Empire, for the women are revered and respected for their intelligence, and finess in the arts of magic. The empress has a powerful army as deadly as any.

To the east the men have created powerful cities of a more masculine nature. Strong towers of stone and metal rise up against the sky, their capitol Sollium an oasis, grounded firmly in a golden desert, the center of their empire. Men are famed for their strength, courage and endurance that allow them to adapt; in particular they are known for taming and using monsterous beasts. Like the women they have built cities in the mountains but choose to stay above the oceans; they have a small base underwater for monitering and science. Their city in the sky is of a more rustic nature, and pays homage to the sun. As for their army, it is large and intimidating.

I guess an edit to the Sun Empire

The Sun Empire exudes power and strength. There is no beauty and grace like the Moon Empire, instead there is a masculine elegance majestic in its own nature. Iron, steel, and precious metals, tower up in intimidating male appeal. They have mastered the artful technique of bending and shaping minerals. Their weapons are of the finest; their armor is of the strongest. Floating castles of iron fly prominently in the sky, ships made out of gold sail through the waters. They live to rule and conquer. Yet the only thing standing in their way is the Moon Empire. With all that power there is a need for a balancing opposite...

Although the earth is split equally into two parts, the Sun Empire has a much different terrain. Instead of lush vegetation like in the Moon Empire, there is harsh dry deserts and sand, mountainous areas, and sprawling woods that are rich with lumber and game. The only area fit to grow any food is directly in the center of their empire where the Emperor resides in his iron castle. Being worshipers of the sun, the men are blessed with an abundance of fresh produce and energy. Woman would struggle to survive in such an environment, and in the land of the Sun God no woman has a rightful freedom.

Edit for the Moon Empire

The main land that the women share with the Sun Empire is covered in a mysterious dense forest. Even flying over it you can not glean much of its secrets. It is considered sacred and is left mostly undisturbed, though scientists love to explore it. People have known to go missing when they leave the areas that have been marked for travel.

The women have created palaces of wonder. Pristine white walls and columns dance together with delicate sheets of glass and gems. Colorful flowers grow in abundance everywhere you turn. However not many women live in the forests of the main continent although they own half of it. It is dangerous, so they choose to live in the cities built strategically in designated areas. In the sky there is an enormous floating palace the capitol Lunadine, where the empress lives. Elegant leisure ships of trade and pleasure float peacefully in the main harbor, but on the other side hovers war ships. Swift and deadly in their accuracy the Empress’s battle ships are not to be underestimated. Her army of warriors, guards, and mages add to her fortress.

Under the ocean there dwells Atlantis like cities encased in strong domes of glass. Built into the mountains are intricate and stunning architecture clever in their design. The Empire of the Moon was built so women can live a peaceful existance with the world. They are free and equal to choose where they wish to live and their path in life.

With the existance of two great empires, there are rules that maintain the peace.

1. Stay on your side. No empire has jurisdiction over the other and as consequence prisoners are taken and held on either side. Prisoners can not be killed or abused, but anything else...

2. Every year all captured prisoners are released to return home.

3. During certain holidays, world peace is declared and the empires may unite to celebrate without consequence. These holidays can last a day or several days.

In such a world as this how will you fare? Create your own tale of tragety or romance and play out your darkest fantasies...

Ahh ok I wasn't sure. I like this sound of this story it's interesting and unique. I'm kind of interested in the Sun Emperor or a prince. I'm just curious as to how serious the emperor role is though. If its to much for me a prince or a warrior or spy.

Do the men war between one another? Does each city have its own particularly rivalry? What is the technology of the time period?

Synyster: The Emperor is a very serious role, everyone looks up to him for guidance so you'd have to be considerate of the entire plot as well as everyones character. Maybe a prince if you'd like, but any royalty roles are serious I'd say. You'd have to play it like you mean it.

Ice: I haven't come up with the city names if you'd like to help with that. As for rivalry I haven't come up with that either. Rivalry is in good fun; in the end their loyalties are to the emporer who should be a strong and just leader. So basically send any good ideas my way.

Technology... magic mixed with weapontry, swords etc... any ideas?

I was hoping people can help develope the character of this rp, especially for the Sun Empire. I've got a bunch of ideas for the Moon Empire but not for the Sun.

I'm not sure that I'd be interested if there wasn't conflict of any substantial time present. There's no real way to develop a character without it. The idea is more appealing to me if, at least in the Sun Kingdom, the male cities are known to war with one another.

I've been kind of slow in getting this rp running... I'll try to get down ideas while I clean today, and maybe some drawings.

I was thinking the cities of men could represent different families of sorts. Princes, as it were, who vied for the throne of the Empire. The winner, be it through force or election, would become Emperor.

My character would be a deposed Prince. A former ruler of a City who, after failing to take the Throne by Force, was removed politically from his City's leadership and given a small unit of ill-repute at the outskirts of their plans. He is bitter and angry.

Ice that sounds great c: the families aren't related to the emporer right? Each city can have a sort of king and royal bloodline. I don't think the throne for emperor should be so easy to achieve but fighting for a throne for one of the cities is more manageable.
