Why do people think he is original and talented?

What a fucking poser he is.

This is the only blueyed blond rapper boy that has talent on the planet.

I guess I have to upload it. Hold on.

Mike D is the worst rapper in the trio (and none of them are that great). Although I do like the Beasties more than Eminem.

That's nice.

I would disagree completely. I would say two things

1) IN a very, very basic sense he is a very talented freestyler. His producer is Dre, he's smart and he has a unique voice.

2) He is very original. He is the first white rapper who hasn't embraced his whiteness while being accepted at an underground level.

The main problem with the perception of him is the music that is heard by the public. Listen to "Renegade" with him and Jay-Z. He's political, smart and raps well.

I think you think too much about this.

I actually couldn't tell you if he was original or not. I know nothing about his music.

I started this thread simply because I saw this pic and went "is that eminem? No, that's Mike D. WTF is with me?

I don't really give two shits if people think he is talented or original.

I'd have to disagree with that. He is far from the first white rapper to be accepted by the underground without embracing his "whiteness".

Remember 3rd Bass? Or how about El-P of Company Flow. Slug? Eyedea? All these white guys have flourishing careers.

3rd bass is flourishing?

You're right. I more meant in a modern perspective.

Underground. Em is mucho mainstream, and accepted as talented by many in underground circles.

Uh . . . You're right. I didn't mean to include them in the flourishing list. :D

I just meant to point out that Eminem is far from the first or best white rapper. It's a shame he gets so much press over more deserving acts, like the ones listed above.

He can sit the fence between mainstream and underground because of his background. But it won't last much longer. He's well on his way to being a full-fleged pop star. He can kiss the underground goodbye.

If he keeps running with Dre, he'll give the underground a nice hiney-hickey real quick. And in most ways, he already has.

He's already a pop star, most mainstream rappers are.

I'm curious... are there any prominent integrated rap groups?

Cypress Hill

B-Real = Mexican

Sen Dog = Cuban

Muggs = White

A couple more that I can remember:

The Beatnuts = 2 Puerto Ricans, 1 Black

Company Flow = 1 White, 1 Black

I can't think of any others. Sure seems like there ought to be more. :(

Or the Beasties?

We need more white rappers. Like Falco. Falco kicked ass. "R-R-R-R-R-R-Rock me A-A-A-A-A-A-A-Amadeu-Amadeus!"

A white female would be cool, too. Gillette had a shot, I guess. If her first song would have been about something other than small penises, she might have stood a chance.

TB4p

I must like the Beasties because they have an overall similar sense of what is funny, funky and cool as I do.

They are dipshits getting raw on the set of life. I dig that crap.

It's like that cha'll.

There was one white woman...but damn, I forgot her name. I could swear it was Nikki D, but that's someone else's name.

I remember her Oalkand A's bomber jacket and the line "I'm not black or brown, but I'm white." She had blonde hair, and she wasn't very popular.

Can anyone tell me the races of the three guys in Black Eye Peas? I used to know but, shit, beats me.

That's the one! I got them confused with the Beatnuts. D'oh!

I hear tell that one is Korean and the other two fellas are black.
