Emily’s NEW positivity and being nice to each other thread

Why, hun?

To not elaborate, my stories have some details out of them cut which would be major parts of the setting, yet such content would be against the rules. I plan to go to another website that allows such content for any future stories.

OK - good luck.

I have that same problem with a novella I wrote two years ago. It will never be seen on LitE in its uncut form, and I am still loathe to purge the offending material. However, LitE is a comfortable outlet and has a great supporting community, and I have yet to find anything outside of this cocoon to my liking.

Best of luck, but don’t be a stranger.

Is it really so hard to work within the (pretty lax) rules? It’s just another creative challenge, right?

Sometimes the story you want to tell doesn't work here. I have a WIP that may or may not work here, and I will write it the way it needs to be told. If I can't post it here, so be it.

I understand. But is it really, really necessary to have rule flouting content? Is it not possible to still tell the story?

Laurel has nodded through all sorts of things in my stories, which technically might be in breach, but not in the way it was written (e.g. I’ve had apparent beastiality accepted).

I suppose I don’t see a compelling reason to write outside of the guidelines. But that’s just me, I suppose.

Well, I guess it depends on one’s approach to writing. @alohadave nailed it - sometimes the story, and what makes the story, wants to color outside of the lines. Excising what I’ve written in my case guts an entire subplot.

These excursions are part of your art. If the particular gallery that displays your photographic artistry requires pubic hair on your female nudes, you don’t stop shooting the lovelies who exfoliate, you find another gallery, or keep your art confined to your own studio. I choose the latter.

I guess some stories just won't have the same emotional punch without the 10-year-old hate-fucking their dog to death
(although I don't actually think any of the stories mentioned above actually go there. I'd guess they're more likely to be about 16ish year-olds or something, which would be against the rules but hardly world-shatteringly provocative to most people)

I guess I just don’t see why rule-flouting content is impossible to avoid.

We are in charge of our stories, not the other way round. We are not possessed by primal spirits and forced to write things with no control and no filter.

We decide what to do. Why is it hard to decide to work within the rules.

I know I’m probably appearing argumentative, I do that a lot, but it’s not my intent. I just don’t get it.

Mine has nothing to with age, it's violence and the after effects of that. It would likely be approved, but if not, c'est la vie.

Actually - this is not really for this thread - @MrPixel and @alohadave I’ll start a new thread.

They are indeed lax and if I would have considered the spirit of the story broken too much by it, I would not have posted what I have until now, but there are two dozen ideas that I simply cannot manifest here, stories that would have so much out of them cut because they would lose their point. Hell, I'm going into a section now where I will feature Satan taking a particular shape and I'm not going to show her engaging in anything sexual because of what that particular shape is. It pretty much means that I have to cut her arrival in a place from that first moment to the point where we have some non-sexual activity. Yes, that's a fantastical creature that's older than the bloody planet, but when she chooses to look like a manga protagonist you don't want to stray towards that rule.

And on another point (since apparently it's fine to mention what it is), I plan my next series to feature TWO alien species that reproduce (almost, in the case of one) exclusively by bestiality. I feel like I can't even mention that detail.

But I still agree that the site has catered well so far. Maybe if the other options are too disappointing I will be back... or just occasionally lurk on the forums.

I’ve featured Satan in my work. She’s a lovely woman called Lucy.

In other works, I’ve had the FMC manifest as a male horse and engage in sex with another FMC.

What I’ve never done (my own choice) is have some mythical being manifest as a minor.

Violence-wise, I have had antagonists graphically beaten until they are a bloody pulp, barely alive (in this case by an FMC being controlled by Lucy). I made sure they had done multiple things to merit it BTW.

Sorry - just realized I was replying here again.

I don’t think this topic fits on my positivity thread, so I created this one:

Yeah bestiality is fine if they're not really animals.

I have no idea why there's this trend to show Satan as a woman. In the DE-verse, Lucy is a traumatized force of the universe that copes with that by going around looking like a 12-year old (And she calls herself Hikari) in a grand attempt to be cute (to deal with the trauma... Apparently that's a real thing). She also uses that body to go on enthusiastic walks through the worlds and tempt those people who would... engage... with such a target to go ahead and damn them. It's not even my original idea.

There's another story which I feel would lose a very big plot element if it adhered to the rules. No, not because Eothas is an eager horsefucker, but because he gets raped close to the end of chapter 2 and does not enjoy it, in fact there is a very extended show of how he's bloody traumatized by it.
