Emily’s NEW positivity and being nice to each other thread

Wait, this is the same thread. What happened did we fill up the thread with post so fast we had to have new one. Wow that's a lot of positivity.

Just some beauty for today. From when the mr and I went to the Tiffany lamp exhibition at the NY Historical Society (1 block south from the Natural History Museum on Central Park West, in case you're interested).

[spots a serial killer lurking in the shadows and quickly eliminates the enemy]

What? I’m being positively properly paranoid here! Lol.

To stay on topic and quite another science fiction writer- “any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” To quote another science fiction personality- “energy is energy, whether generated by science or sorcery”. I am always glad when creativity is appreciated, whatever its assigned source.

I see evolution by common descent to be a wonderfully positive way of looking at things, with many wonderful surprises. We are all Africans by heritage, and its not that distant a heritage. Mushrooms are more closely related to humans than they are to pine trees. I love that. Insects account for 80% of animal species and 40% of ALL species of living things. Birds are living dinosaurs. Platypuses are real.

Speaking as a former Biologist, it’s a much richer world when we begin to understand elements of it.

I don’t think working for an insurance company really counts as being an active researcher.

But I’m allowed to say Biologist as I have papers published in peer-reviewed journals (as author 268 and obviously not as Miller, E.).

You are still a Biologist, even if you work in other fields right now. Huh. So instead of researching the intricacies of life, you went to work in the field where all the money is... You gold digger! :geek:

To close this out on a more positive note.

  1. Two friends here have tried out one of my favorite bands and loved them. Thanks to @Altissimus ’s Karaoke Event
  2. I’ve had the most wonderful help from a panel of beta readers for my current work-in-progress story - it is much, much better for all their input
Thank you all 😊.
