Emes being mad!

Following the lovely bluefoxladys abseil for charity last year i thought i would be nearly as mad and do a 'race for life' ! Its a 5km run (or walk in my case!) raising money for research into prevention, treatment and cures for all types of cancer.

I am asking nicely....ok....begging for sponorship!

His lungs were covered with it and they didn't know it. His lung ruptured in the middle of the night. The lost him 3 times but he fought back. He died 3 days later in ICU.

Sounds a bit like one of my Grandfathers....he died of lung cancer...thats partly why i am doing this....i know how horrible it can be

Yes, we had no idea we were losing him but we knew something was wrong. i guess we were just hoping they could help him. Looking back tho, he was so sick God he was so sick. i held his hand on his death bed and it was just black from being stuck with needles and IV's so damned much.

Emes, I lost my darling wife to Cancer and my step son his mum 7 years ago. a while back I walked on the Great Wall of China and raised £1000.00 and I greatly admire yoiu for doing this race for life.

My son and I will be donating to the cause.

You have both of our best wishes for your efforts.

I know its a cause close to a lot of peoples hearts and just hope i can do some small part in helping to find a cure for all its kinds.

I dion't think it's fair to say that when you've pretty much doubled your target in just a few days, not fair to those who have sponsored you really is it?

BS....sorry, that isnt quite what i was getting at. A few people have been very generous for which i am VERY grateful.

What i meant was that no-one seemed bothered about keeping this thread near to top apart from me.

Unless you come up with a brand new and exciting idea you will find, as others have before you, that to get a thread up on the 1st page all the while is a very hard and time consuming job and takes a long while to build up a nucleus of people to keep it going.
When I first dragged the UK Directory back from the brink it didn't just come to life suddenly, I had to be on for hours, answering each visitor individually and making them all feel welcome. It was a success for a while but looks to have quietened down there now.

Sorry about the other post...just feeling down about a few things, here being one of them! Will keep going with this...and AM doing the run/walk (got the trainers now and dont want to have spent the money for nothing!!!) whether i get any more money or not.
