I've used email notices to access LIT since I started here but the last few days I've not been able to access LIT via the emails the below message is all I can get.

Your email message has been idle and this link has become inactive. To access the link, close this window and return to your Message. Then click the browser's Refresh button or close your message and reopen it.

This even happens with fresh emails just in.

Any help will be a big help to this puta dummy.

Would love to help you Gil but I don't normally access Lit through emails. I did just check one for you though, and it worked fine. Hope someone else has a solution for you. :rose:

The other problem I'm having is accessing LIT via the site but no attachments, profiles etc will open, I do have pop up stopper but because I've never had pop ups in LIT never had to use it.

your pop-up stopper should sit there invisable, ready to pounce. When you're at a site that doesn't use (many) pop-ups, it has nothing to do and you might forget about it.

Then all of a sudden a useful pop-up window dones appear, and because you think the pop-up stopper is inactive, you don't realize that it jumped in and did it's job.

Therefore, you might disable it. Check that cokies are bing accepted; sometimes a site uses a thrid party for things other than (advertising) and that service is blocked in the same maner that the advertiser's (3rd party) cookies are blocked.

This is just random guessing; I'm not a lit e-mail user.

I've gotten this message before, but I can't remember which email service I was using at the time (hotmail I think, but can't guarantee it). I believe logging out and back into the email site solved the problem, but it may have also been an issue with the temporary internet files/cache or cookies and the browser. What email service are you using? Which browser?

Thanks READYONE & ERICA but all still the same, I've even dumped the pop up stopper & installed a different one but no luck, Hotmail is the email used & it seems there greed to get $$$$ out of users in limiting the free stuff might be the cause as others have found trouble there too.

Yep, it was Hotmail I was having this problem with too. I don't have Lit set up to send the notifications to that address (they go to my Lycos address and I haven't had any problems), but I did try forwarding a Lit email to hotmail. The results? I sent it 3 times, and only one got there, in my junk email box no less. And, I get the same "idle for too long" message when the email is open for more than a minute or so. That problem goes away when I go back to my inbox and then re-open the message. It's a hotmail thing, not related to your popup stopper or browser.

If this irritates you enough, I'd suggest you get a new email account through lycos or another similar free service. I like Lycos because it doesn't attach it's own stuff to the links (no bar at the top that says "You are visiting a site outside of Hotmail. To return to Hotmail, close this browser window.").

I have found a way around it at the moment & that is to get ppl to PM me as all works fine then no hassle to enter LIT or open attachments or links then:D but there is no way that the email notices from LIT will work at all just that same stupid message so I guess I'll need to open yet another email addy

Thanks for the help & look forward to seeing you around LIT.

Luv the AV too:kiss:
