The concept and idea has been in interest for awhile now, the guts to actually go through with it are another story. I'd like opinions, experiences, recommended reading and starting off points from anyone who has anything to offer. I understand safety are always first and foremost so I'd like any information on that as well.

TIA

*sigh*

Sadly, electroplay is well and truly off limits for us as I have epilepsy and Master has an aversion to pain. If you have a heart condition, epilepsy or any kind of condition that affects the nervous system, you really should not indulge in electroplay in any form.

Hope you enjoy what you do. :rose:

*PERKS*

I have a violet wand and TENS unit... Willing to demonstrate and educate!

:D

ah, just ask DVS! ;)

What are the handheld units that I can only describe as an old fashioned gas stove lighter... They seem to make people scream in videos.

Can you use them on cock/balls?

Oh..i don't know the technical name for them, but I call them a "shocker." What they are doing is basically giving you a static electricity shock. They aren't that harsh, I think the surprise "gets you" more than anything else.

Yes, you can use them on c&b. You want to avoid any area near the heart.

I've looked into a few things and, being that I'm on a strict budget right now, what are some more affordable things that may be worthwhile?

Thanks for that... I dont seem to be able to find them on the internet anywhere. Do you know of any sites that sell them? I seem to be able to find TENS units and attachments, where as I am sure the "shockers" are stand alone units?

I did some research into electroplay some time ago. One of the manufacturers of electroplay devices had a warning, something like this:
When heart surgeons need to stop a heart for open-heart surgery, they give the heart a shock with a gadget powered by an ordinary 9-volt battery. It works, the first time, every time.

Be careful.

For TENS units the rule is simple.

No circuits ACROSS the heart. Both positive and negative pads stay on the same side, left or right, above or below the heart. You do not put positive on one side and negative on the other.

End of discussion.

I've had legit medical/therapeutic use on my shoulder and back done by doctors, chiropractors and physical therapists. Some of the back work was along the spine very near my heart. You are not going to accidentally electrocute yourself or a play partner with a 9 volt TENS. HELLOOOOO!!! Remember when you were a kid and stuck a 9 volt to your tongue???? Thank you, you did not fry your brain then either.

Nuff said.

Thank you for your perfectly sage advice!

:rose:

I do sometimes feel it in my heart. It's kinda cool when that happens.

My hearts fucked up anyway. It doesn't keep a normal beat. It does whatever the shit it wants to.

LOL

i havent tried it because i am afraid of being electrified but the idea of trying is still running to my head i am very much willing to learn the techniques and safety of this methods.

What is it like to do? I used to use little pads on my lower back awhile ago because the back brace i had to wear for scoliosis put extra pressure on my lower back and made it hurt so I used the thing my stepdad had and it helped. It didn't hurt, more felt like a tingling sensation.

Depending on the device you use though, are the sensations different? do specific parts of your body enhance the sensations you feel etc etc

The intensity, frequency and pulse rate can all be changed... and what's therapeutic on one body party can cause uncontrollable twitching and spasms and pain on another party... a frequency and pulse rate that's pleasant at one level of intensity can become painful at another... vary the settings, learn by trial and error.

Have FUN! :D

TENS and violet wands can be fun if used cautiously.

A cattle prod, on the other hand, NOT SEXY. (not for me anyways )

Discussion site suggestion

Smartsim, a .com site, is a bulletin board with a lot of information, including a section about female stimulation. Topics include equipment, pad and probe placement, patterns, exchange of .wav files, experience reports, etc.

Hmm...so my sub is very interested in this...she read something about using a home stereo as the driver for the system, using music as a signal generator. We tried a simple version of this once, with pleasant results, but needs improvement. We've not had a chance to get back to it, but are very interested.

I'm handy with electronics and could likely gin up my own amplifier, but I'd like to get a sense of what the ideal voltage and amplitude ranges are that most people enjoy?

Ummm that's not something I would play around with (or, rather, let someone playing with me play around with).

If you really want to jig something up yourself make sure it doesn't plug into the wall or you might have Kentucky Fried Sub. It sounds obvious but it should probably be said.

You might also want test it on yourself first .

If you are both that interested I would probably invest in something...
