Elastic in Clothes

They have elastic in a casing or a hem? Are you handy with a needle and thread? With sharp pointy scissors or a Kwik UnPick you could take a few stitches out of the casing that enclosed the elastic, hook out the elastic and shorten it by looping it up a bit and putting a couple of stitches in it to hold it in its new shorter form. If the elastic is shot and too slack you could replace it -- thread a largish safety pin through one end of the length of new elastic, shut the pin and use it to thread the new elastic through the casing, stitch the ends of the elastic together and sew up the little gap in the casing. Hope this helps.
