This is a totally obscure question, and I'm not really optimistic about anyone having the answers, but...here it is:
I'm writing a paper and part of it involves the introduction of lyric poetry in New Kingdom Egypt. My local library system doesn't have the books written on the subject, so I'm relying completey on online information. Does anyone know anything about the New Kingdom lyric poetry? Know of any good sites that might be helpful? I've literally spent hours doing research and I'm getting pretty frustrated of not finding answers.

Thanks!

This is one of my favorites. Look how well the author uses his line-breaking, and that metaphor! Tell me you haven't felt exactly like this before!

I don't know what your time frame is for researching your paper, but if you have a while you might want to try inter-library loan to obtain the books you need. Most libraries I've used provide some kind of inter-library loan service. You usually need quite a bit of information about the book (author, title, publication date, etc.). In the past I have looked this kind of information up using online university library catalogs.

It's worked well for me in the past. Just a thought.

I've already borrowed everything I can through the local ILL. Unfortunately, none of the libraries within my ILL are big city libraries, so none of them have what anything on Egyptian literature (just general Egyptian history). Thanks for the suggestion, tho- ILL rocks.

not sure if this helps, but can you communicate with a big city library via phone (a help desk perhaps), or a university library (often uni librarians are excellent to speak with via the phone) and get them to postal mail you out some books?

:rose:

sounds like an interesting topic on which to write a paper. good luck!
