Educator Roll Call

Hello! :) I have taught preschool teachers for the last 6 years. That counts, right? I love teaching, but I love being a student even more.

Welcome teacher.

So avgblkgrl and lost yonder...any follow up stories?

I know I'd be scared it if seemed that some of my students were aware of Lit, but that's because my students shouldn't be here at all, unless they lie about their age. I'm kinda glad that my sn here is based on my pre-teaching career too, that way it's never going to come up by accident.

In my case, not much to tell - needless to say, I didn't explore the depth of their familiarity with them! Actually, I think it would be kind of intriguing to be "caught" by one of my female students on here - particularly if she actually read and liked my stories!

What I wouldn't do to be a preschool student again! :D those were the days...

Well, I wasn't looking for a Lit story out of your encounter (though that wouldn't have been bad either) just wondered if maybe either of the young ladies had approached you later. It would be interesting to hear from someone who was found to be a Litster, rather than a Litster who found someone here first and then irl, I think.

Agreed! but think we'll have to start a new thread. I do wonder if anyone has been "caught"; or perhaps to people who are listers, perhaps even flirted with one another on here, then realized irl who they are - hmmmmm, another story in the making!

In honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday, a quote... "You can get help from teachers, but you are going to have to learn a lot by yourself, sitting alone in a room."

Hey there fellow educators...if anyone feels like having gmail conversations (where it might be easier to make contact at work than visiting Lit) send me a PM

Yae! I'm just a southern gal who's looking forward to transferring this accent to people who don't even live here if I have my way ;)

Well, shut my mouth and call me corn pone, if you've got a Southern drawl then you're even more welcome than I first said :)

Ok, teacher's aide here. Hope that qualifies. Working with first graders this year. Worked with fouth grade the last 3 years and before that 2nd grade. Co-teach Art Club to 4th and 5th.

I will say I am missing fourth grade reading groups *sigh*

I are an educator

I teach at a couple of universities as an adjunct -- anthro, law, research methods, conflict, etc. My favorite class is an honors course I've been teaching for about 5 years, which deals with how we think about and study human bodies. Loads of fun, getting freshmen to talk about what bodies are,how they get used and how they get modified. Today we talked about body modifications to demonstrate belonging to, or apartness from, groups. We ended up with penile subincision as our closing topic, and the young ladies winced more than the young men.

Just Hello........

University Prof. here................enlighten me........slowly.

I sit on the advisory board for the social work department at a local state university. Does that count?

As Summer winds down, I thought I'd give the thread a boost!

Hope everyone is enjoying the downtime and recharging for next year!
