Just found this thread, so I guess I'll bump it.
I'm starting my 9th year of working in schools. I'm actually a PK-12 librarian. We are taught to be open-minded and willing to get a book on anything a student or staff member wants. And I do literally mean ANYTHING.

Let's see: anything off of the Banned Books list. "Go Ask Alice" had a good run for about three weeks once the kids realized what was in between the covers. Had a teacher ask for a DVD copy of "The History of Sex" off of the History Channel once.
And then we have the computer usage! The CIPA filters are a waste of time when the 7th graders can go around them to check out whitehouse.com. It's a real hoot to log off a teacher and see what their browsing history was during their lunch break. Or the screen freezes up on them as they desperately try to close a tab. Hey, they're adults and no kids are around, what the hell do I care?

I agree librarians are kinda sexy in their own right. Not sure what it is about the lost stacks of books but it seems like the perfect place for a romantic interlude...(part of the thrill of enjoying it, but shhhhh keep it down!)

I'm off for nearly the whole of august, then back first day of september for a couple of training days before the kids return.

Can't wait for the break...I'm pretty much running on fumes after a hellatious term

It doesn't seem to matter how much time off there is over the summer (or other breaks for that matter), I never seem to be quite ready when school goes back.
