Have you checked out diet and fitness websites to get tips and hints?

That seems more reasonable.

I would suggest eating more vegetables, however. As much as possible, in fact.

I'm already getting like over 6 severings of veggies? :S

How much is a serving size of veggies? Is it one cup of a half cup? I forget.

Depends upon the vegetable. Basically, the more vegetables the better.

The sleeping isn't a big deal though...cuz normally I don't sleep at all...just catching up, I suppose.

I'll eat in a bit...I think...maybe...not hungry though :S

Seriosuly though, 8 glasses of water? I keep hearing that around, but it sounds like a lot, even for me and I'm a heavy drinker.

Maybe it's the equivelent? A lot of moisture comes from food.

Its not that much...and it does help you lose weight *nods*

Just don't drink it all at once! lol When I had to have my ultra sound, I had to drink 32 ounces of water at once...and then hold it for like almost two hours...with part of the time having someone press on my belly! I swear I almost peed myself! lol

Ouch.

I'd lose the juices in favor of a piece of fruit - have the orange, it has more fiber and the carb count is the same. Having the fruit is better because with the fiber the sugars will slow down the rate your system absorbs the sugar (carbs). Fiber helps us feel full as well. I'd switch out the orange juice for a glass of skim (non-fat) milk (a fairly good balance of protein and carb). So a piece of fruit, the cottage cheese and a glass of milk is probably going to keep your blood sugars more level and you might also add a handful of nuts (maybe put them in the cottage cheese).

Regarding the bread - the light is fine, but again, look at the fiber count. A whole wheat bread will have approx 4 grams of fiber but a white grain will maybe have 1 or less then. Just look at the label for the fiber info - it is included with the carb information.

The yogurt again is lots of sugars, even the non fat. We do need some fat in our diet - it's the kind of fats that is important. Almonds and walnuts are a good source and if you have a handful along with a few slices of deli turkey, it'd be a better snack. The yogurt doesn't fill you up as much as the other will - even a half of sandwich is a good snack.

Basically what is one of the most balanced and healthy nutrition plans is to follow a diabetic plan. It is sensible and good for most everyone.
