Does anyone know if submitting an edited version of an already posted story upsets/erases existing votes?

There are a few typos in my holiday contest entry that I didn't notice until after it was posted. They're really bugging me.

Is it allowed to submit an edited version before the contest ends? Will it erase the scoring of the original entry when the edited version takes its place?

From the Lit FAQ

I've re-edited my story and want to replace the posted version with my new edited one. How do I do this?

No problem! Simply submit the new version as you submitted the old one, only adding the word "EDITED" to the title (ex. "My Sexy Firefighter Ch. 03 - EDITED") so that we know to replace the old text with the new text. We will then replace the original text with the new text. Your story will retain its previous voting score and views.

Thank you, Killer Muffin!

Gee, there it was in the FAQ. Figures! I thought I already knew all the details they go over in the FAQ, so I didn't look there. *blush*

No problem at all 66, I did exactly that and the revision was in within a day of submission (Thanks Laurel) complete with scoring and votes.

Okay, so I just submitted the edited version, hehehe. Yes, yes, it's way too late for it to be put up in time for voting, but oh, well. It's worth it. I added a lot of things I'd originally wanted in the story, but left out due to deadline pressure, and took my time with it.

I'm MUCH happier with this final draft.

Of course, if they managed to get your revision up within a day of submission, gauchecritic, I suppose there's a glimmer of a chance that mine could be up before voting is totally over with...

Nah.
