Editing a pending strory that shows as "new"

I made a change (tiny edit) to a story that is pending, but is marked "new". It's still showing as "new". Does anyone know if the story will include my edits when it's posted?

I would have expected it to get kicked back to pending, but I've never tried to edit one that was already approved and in the posting queue. I'm guessing the edit wasn't accepted, but if it was, that might indicate a bug, or possibly an exploit.

It's not show tomorrow's date, which it usually does, so I think something might be snafu

I suppose it might simply be a graphical glitch, then, where it failed to replace the 'new' icon with the 'pending' one and it actually did get sent back for another review.

Could just mean the edit has kicked it back into the submissions queue. Keep an eye on it and try not to mess with it again.

The combination of "new" and a date in the past could mean anything, depending on how the database is queried, and how the UI gets updated. If I'd noticed it was "new" before editing, of course I wouldn't have. But it would be cool if I could edit a story after it had been accepted (but not cool if less scrupulous authors could)

My somewhat educated guess would be that it's gonna be either:

• stuck in pending forever, because the daily cron that flips the status of a story from Pending to New won't ever find it with today's date
• it will get published tomorrow as "normal," with your changes application

Either way, the bug is in the fact that you were able to edit it w/o changing the story's status back to Pending. You should notify the admins.
