So I've noticed several of the categories such as blood play and breath play don't actually have that many threads, so I want to combine them in one single 'edge play' category. My question is - what else would be considered edge play?

some forms of suspension (tagging, hooks, compression suspension, breast suspension)

breath play
Womb Fucking
branding
and even a single tailed horse whip

I agree that what's 'edgey' is a gray area depending on the person. Anal is edgey for me because of the massive ulcers in my colon. lol I'm just trying to get a consensus on what should be included under the category of 'edge play'. My previous postlisted what I felt was edge play for me when I am in submissives mode.
Many of those are the same when I am playing a dominant role but there are some differences particularly when I am playing with male submissives.

I don't consider edge play to have to include fear or safety. I think things like pushing someone so far down into sub space that they won't come out of it for hours would count as mental edge play.

For me personally, edge play is anything that has the ability to mentally hurt me in a way that is not pleasant. That includes physical things like knife play and branding, but more serious is stuff like power/control taunts... saying it's a pity fuck, that maybe I'm not good enough to be with them, etc. *That* can be oh-so-delicious at times, but it's also something that can send me into a panic attack very easily.

I think I would add serious physical harm, to the point where your life is in danger, to that list. Poorly-done suspension, for example. Or anything where something with the ability to tighten is placed around your neck.

I have always thought of edge playas being deliberately pushing limits to the extreme not accidentally or carelessly. Poorly done suspension would hardly be edge playto me it would be stupidity. Having said that however I have been injured in suspension as recent broken bones and torn muscles will attest, it was not because the suspension was poorly executed it was simply that whilst being triple penetrated I came so hard I arched up out of the suspension and slammed back down hard enough to break bones. I actually considered including tit torture and caning, but they have enough threads of their own that I went ahead and left them as they were. If there are that many threads about them, then their are going to be people just looking for just those threads.
