I've sold a few bits and pieces down the years, bought a few more, mainly cars. But I listed a couple of items today and got swamped with offers, not bids. I'm gonna take the offers as a starting price for the bids. But is this a new thing? Have to admit, I've never had this before.

I had a bet that Little Lance would be the first reply. LOL.

Didn't Luk give you those used panties of his as something to always remember him by?

But is this a new thing?

Yes. Last year or so. They have been seriously hurting for money due to inept management and failed policies. They don't make any money on listings, only on sales by way of the Final Value Fees. As a result, they want sales. Any sales at any price, even if they're below what the seller wants. They have no interest at all in either the buyer or the seller, only the fees.

Unlike you, poor insecure Little Lance, I don't feel the need to bump my own threads in a desperate bid for attention.

So what, you didn't really want an answer to your question?

Of course he didn't really want an answer.

Getting an answer means he doesn't get to:

Rag on lance/lace/et al
Claim victim status
Get any attention
And so on...

Where's the fun in missing out on all that?

I've recently bought a few bigger ticket items on ebay. I made offers and some of them were accepted. Lowball offers too. My guitars came just as they were listed and pictured and shipping was spot on. I know that has to do with the sellers, but they accepted offers that they wouldn't have two years ago. Not sure how this plays out with the ebay inner workings, it was a win for this buyer.

One of the offers on one item is more than I was expecting from the auction. Might just take that one.

In Cribbage as in life, sean is a queer hand.

I guess some people think the way to get it is to pay up. Hell, that's a bonus.
