I've been spending a lot of time at ebay lately, and I've noticed something that really does bother me. It's probably not something that most people would notice. And probably wouldn't bother them either.

Do the sellers at these sites realize just how many sales they are losing by only offering UPS or Fedex? There have been quite a few auctions I passed up because of the shipping options. UPS and the like are very expensive in Europe, and it's surprising the number of auctions that specifically exclude APO addresses. Come on, people. It's not like I live at the edge of the world! USPS does wonders with the mail. It's cheap, fairly reliable, and to send stuff to me is the same price as sending to NY. So I have to wait a bit longer to get my stuff. I'm used to it. We all are here. Mail is a big deal. LOL

I guess the upshot is to get people to think a bit before they limit their shipping options. There's a huge captive audience over here.

April, a friend of mine in New Zealand has the same problem. He gets around it tho. He simply buys the stuff and has it shipped to me. I in turn package together various smaller objects he's purchased into a larger box, and then ship then to him. He pays me back for my shipping, but that's not a problem. It also comes in handy around those "special times" like Valentines Day or birthdays. He's been known to pull a few strings for me in NX to surprise Draco.

:D

I have passed on many an item when the shipping costs more than what I am bidding on.

I admit though,as I sell books and ship them everywhere,I do make my money that way.

I was a e-bay power seller and offered world wide shipping at what ever price was best for the buyer, some fucks are just greedy, like e-bay. Gave it up after e-bay put the screws to me, maybe this is why?

It's not just ebay. Other stores too. Sephora, for instance. I wanted a print catalog, but they don't mail to APO addresses. So I won't buy from them. I wrote them to ask about it, and they pretty much said that they don't really care. Too often we get lumped into the "international shipping" category. Which is a complete untruth. It really ticks me off. Too many places are woefully uneducated about the postal system.
