Eating

I've been doing Weight Watchers for several months now. I've lost a significant amount of weight.

That said...I have issues with emotional eating. I'm feeling stressed and I've eaten way to much food in the last couple of days. I still feel hungry and yet, I know I'm not hungry.

Its going around! I wont even DARE speak of the things that I have eaten tonight....Im blaming PMS:confused:

Try munching low fat items like Soy beans boiled in salt water or baby carrots, celery, stuff like that. You get the satisfaction of chewing with little or no fat and calories. Hang in there! :)

Pickles..lots of pickles. Get the zesty ones too. Eating anything hot will help dull your tastebuds after you eat, making it easier to avoid cravings.

I need to not eat. I want to go to the gym but it is too late and dark outside, so that isn't an option either.

I tried eating really spicy food at lunch time, knowing it has that effect. Once the burning was gone...I was back to square one.

Whatever you do don't let a few days of being off track cause you to stay off. Start over tomorrow! It is very easy to get in the "oh well I already screwed up so I might as well eat this cake" mode. Trust me I have been there. Good for you for sticking with it this long.

Hang in there, PB. You've just hit a small setback in the big scheme of things. :)

Whenever I had an insurmountable food craving, and I know I'm not really hungry, I down two pint bottles of flavored sugar free sparkling water. The sheer weight of the water in my belly keeps me from being able to eat anything, and the flavors are a great calorie-free indulgence. My local grocery store has its own brand, and the liter sizes are only 50 cents. If the spicy food isn't working, maybe this would help?

I really should be taking my own advice but I just remembered a cool saying I heard at Weight Watchers when I was actually following the program...

When you are about to eat something ask yourself "Does this taste has good has skinny will feel?"

I totally understand.

Remember.

No food tastes as good as being in shape feels.

Now please do your daily tummy crunches an make crystal light ice pops.

Thank you for all the replies and suggestions. I just need to find a better way to deal with the day to day than a carbohydrate induced high.

I've lost over 60 lbs. sense Aug. of last year by sheer mind over matter (food). Everytime I get the need to stuff something in my face I go look in the mirror and tell myself NO. Then I find something else to do, like read, do a load of laundry, go outside and pet my dogs, play with my birds, come here and read & post, anything but put that food in my mouth! It has worked I've gone from a 1X to a size 10 in less than a year! Good luck I know the struggle you are going through and you can win!:)
