Do any of you people that dont live in the Eastern Standard Time Zone, feel like your world sometimes revolves around EST as far as time goes?

Maybe its just because I live in the zone, but it would seem wierd now for me not too.

What are your thoughts......

Yes, I'm used to PST for the most part but it's still a little weird not to be running on EST.

Yeah, I mean especially with chats and such.....say 8pm till midnite is prime time, but for someone on the west coast it is 5pm till 9pm.

God forbid if you live in europe....lol

We are posting about whats on tv at 8pm, and they are eating breakfast tomorrow and trying to post here. Ugh

Time as we know it actually revolves around Atlantic Standard Time.

Why?

Because Standard Time was invented in Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada and inaugerated on November 18, 1883 by Sir Sanford Fleming.

He was also in charge of the initial survey for the Canadian Pacific Railway, the first Canadian railway to span the continent.

Fleming also designed the first Canadian postage stamp. Issued in 1851, it cost three pennies and depicted the beaver, now the national animal of Canada.

Fleming's invention of the adoption of the present system of time zones earned him the title of "Father of Standard Time."

Sir Sandford lived in Halifax in the 1880's when he was engineer- in-chief for construction of the Intercolonial Railway between the Maritimes and Quebec. He established a summer retreat, known as the Dingle, on the western side of Halifax's North West Arm. The house and stable still stand by the driveway to the park.

Fleming took an active part in the intellectual and scientific life of Canada, throughout his long career and received many honours. He was knighted in 1897 on the occasion of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. He died in Halifax in 1915.

Yeah but we invented Biological, and Nuclear weapons....so there.....

:nana:

Meant as a joke....we should be ashamed of ourselves, and see the irony that what we invented could very posibly make time a thing of the past because we could all be DEAD!
