Do people hide "easter eggs" in their stories here on Lit? Spouses' names, pets' names, allusions to cities, movie/book references, jabs at other members, etc.? I'm curious-

I just KNOW that was a true story. I'm so fucking jealous of that muffin.

I do indeed.... many characters' names i use are italianised or germanised or brazilianised versions of my friends

John becomes Juan, Charles becomes Carlito, Paul = Paulo etc.

one sci-fi story includes a band of soldiers which is just me and my high school friends...

Makes thinking of names much easier

perky, my darling, if that story was true, do you think I'd be here or on a bed with a couple of seriously hot studs?

Neat technique, Starblayde. I think I've got three names in my new scif story (just posted, not yet approved). "Cali" is the name of an ex-coworker's dog, and "Annie Barnes" grew from the likable phrase Astronaut Annie.

The other name comes from the technique of taking an ordinary word and changing one letter; Tascam makes professional audio equipment, but "Tajcam" sounds kind of exotic and feminine, to me.

Then there's the references to "Central Dogma," but we just won't go there-

For girls' names i just pick really nice sounding names (see Laurel's thread on Names and Perceptions) In the same story i had a Kyra, Felicia, Sahsa, Tabitha... just lovely names

My narratives based on my real life experiences, with the secondaries being amalgamations of people I shared the experiences with.

The names are either, the alter egos of favorite comic book characters or non related party names in various combinations.

I know you tease them by showing yourself in public. You've ruined them for all other women. I'm quite miffed.

If you read my stories backwards you'll find hidden messages.
