It never ceases to surprise and amuse me that Literotica readers who happily and enthusiastically embrace one sort of perversion act aghast when confronted with another.

Just today, I received the comment "Shame on you, sicko" because the son in a mom-son incest story exposed his mom's nudity to other people. It's the Taliban element in the mom-son incest readership asserting itself. It's a surprisingly large, and surprisingly un-self-aware, segment of the Literotica readership.

It's the "my perversion OK, your perversion not OK" mentality.

I enjoy the challenge of making squicky things seductive.

It's the angry, judgmental way of today's world: People think they are allowed to have their beliefs, thoughts, desires, and feelings but you are not because theirs are right and yours are wrong. It is sadly universal and the Lit readership is merely a reflection of it.

Lots of stuff I don't go for.

Exposing Mom in that kind of story is fairly common though, no?

I don't hear from squicked readers very often, but when I do, it just makes me shake my head.

Yeah, the world should be more accepting of differences. Unfortunately, quite often, the ones who think they are the most accepting, have the hardest time of accepting ideas that don't line up one hundred percent with their own.

In politics, the extreme ends of each side are that way. Though I had a liberal friend tell me, she doesn't have be tolerant of anyone she thinks is tolerant or has views at odds with her own.

I said, meet me in the middle and allow me some lee when my kink and your kink (not talking politics) don't align.

She retorted to me, I don't have to so I don't.

I still am not sure if she was kidding or serious.

There's an old joke where a guy tells his friend that he likes to have sex with sheep.

The friend asks, "Male sheep or female sheep?"

The guy says "Female, of course, what do you think I am, some kind of pervert?"

PS: I learned that joke from a customer in a strip club.

I had a reader yesterday that gave me shit on two stories.

He's on a sex site. He's reading April Fool Stories. He's upset because they're sex pranks!

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Simon learned a new word, he usually calls the trolls incels or Magas, now he called them Taliban.

He uses whatever words Rachel Maddow tells him to.

That faction is not new, and they're in every category, but because one of them showed up on his story we need to get a thread about it.

Preachy comments picking at one point of a story they personally don't like is as Lit 101 as it gets here.

She may be aware of but not understanding fully Karl Popper’s The Open Society and Its Enemies usually summarised as the paradox of tolerance. It does lay out an argument that a tolerant society may need to suppress the truly intolerant, but only in the most extreme cases. Many armchair commentators don’t bother with the nuances of the argument :(

Applied to kink, I know my limits but yours are yours and if everyone consents… have fun.

The vilest comments I’ve received are on a vanilla MF ‘sex in the office’ story involving two people in unhappy marriages. But it’s the fact the gender of my 1st person protagonist is obscured for the first half of a Lit page (total, 3 pages) that brought a bit of opprobrium. Although her blushing at an accidental cleavage reveal should’ve made it clear

Before the pandemic I leaned towards your liberal friends view. Now I'm fully on board with your friends view.

Racists, bigots, anti-vaxxers, anti-maskers, incels, people who use the word ‘snowflake’, God botherers, fascists, libertarians (fascists who are still in the closet), and the mind-numbingly stupid aka people who voted for Brexit in the UK. Luckily this latter group are also well represented in groups 1 through 6 above, which saves time.

When it comes to kinks, I don't care what people are into. You like something, then knock yourself out. May not be my cup of tea, but then I'm not doing it so what do I care.

It's better than the one-word bombs like "sad" and "pathetic" or "loser" at least you know what they didn't like about your story.

Squick varies by time and place. James Joyce's Ulysses was finally allowed into the United States by a court decision in 1933. I don't think anybody would call it "squicky" now.

Speaking of sheep, Literotica bans bestiality, except for werewolves and such, and stories of true rape. Yet there are bestiality sites out there for those who want it.

I've mentioned it before, but the strong negative reaction of the Incest Taboo readers to scenes in my story series 'Body Swap With Sister's Boyfriend' of the mother, sister, aunt and female cousin using the toilet and having their periods was amazing. I've never had such vitriol, and I've written in Loving Wives.

These readers want to read stories about people who share DNA having sex with each other sure seemed squeamish about female bodily functions.

Tomorrow morning at 9am, will be the first class on CRT and WOKENESS. Be there.

So true, the tollisms from the early days of the 'net are now pretty much mainstream behaviour.

I can't tell you how many times, I've been travelling or out at a restaurant and heard someone yammering about how they are going to post a one-star review for some silly reason

To be clear, my original post had nothing to do with wokeness or whatever you want to call it, or politics of any kind. The phenomenon I'm talking about transcends political boundaries. It wasn't meant to be a left or a right thing.

I just read that OnlyFans is going to ban explicit sexual content starting in October. It's fascinating to me how sex still gets everybody riled up and in a mood to ban and prohibit things. We tolerate absolutely staggering amounts of violence on television and think nothing of letting children watch it but as a society we're squicked by sex and nudity.

A lot of the OnlyFans, fans will stop paying for the shit at that point!

The pattern of "use sex workers to build up a platform and then promptly turn around and shaft them" has become a consistent one.

I'm sure their competitors will be pleased to have the extra traffic, but the gobsmacking thing here is why anyone thinks this will work. Tumblr was already losing ground before Verizon acquired it and then banned porn on the site, but it was that purge that drove away the bulk of its user base and dropped its value to almost nothing. It had been valued at over a billion dollars in 2013, and sold to WordPress in 2019 for three million dollars.

So... who the fuck sees that happen and then says "let's do that!" Sex workers become a prominent part of these platforms because there's a market for what they do, nobody is going to successfully replace that traffic with chefs and fitness instructors.

There are those who are squicked by right and wrong and carry it on their shoulder, inserting it into posts here and there.
