One of my green friends sent me this.

I just signed up to the new Earth Hour website for 2008 and I thought you might like to take a look and possibly sign up too. Earth Hour is on 29 March 2008 at 8pm, and it looks like it's going to be really big. So far, as well as Sydney, there'll also be Chicago, Tel Aviv, Manila, Copenhagen, Melbourne, Brisbane and Toronto all turning off their lights for an hour in the name of fighting global warming. And I'm sure there'll be more cities by March. Sign up for Earth Hour with me by visiting http://www.earthhour.org/sign-up and join the movement.

Brisbane has also proposed a day in April for people to unplug all their appliances on stand by. We switch off all things on standby in our house already, not that it makes the males happy, but they both agree with trying to do what is possible to protect the environment, so grumble not. It is incredible how much difference something so simple can make to the environment, and your own power bill. Also just saw a BBC story about the wheat shortage and the impact growing population and climate change is having on it. In 2006, wheat cost 70GBP a tonne and now costs 180GBP a tonne. The future is coming fast.

We are participating, my son brought a note home about it a few weeks ago and a reminder just yesterday. It's cool we are planning on doing it, I'll most likely sleep at this rate to be honest : laughs : Sad but true.

i have signed up and have decided it to be a good time to make a camp fire outside and spend time with the children, touching on some ways for them to always do what they can for Mother Earth.

Thank You, WD; for the reminder of the date; otherwise, time rushes by and would have forgotten.:rose:
