Earth Day story

So this is a story idea I wanted to do to enter the Earth Day contest, but because my schedule is jam packed this week and next, I know I won't get it done in time. I don't want to rush it and make it really crappy, but I still would like to do it as just a normal story submission and I'd like some ideas on it, since I'm going to take my time with it and I can get some feedback on it.

The story goes like this: The main character is a woman who is a pagan who is very devoted to her faith. She's also sort of an extreme sports kind of person. So she goes out into the wilderness during the summer solstice in order to pay homeage to her faith. She climbs a mountain that she's climbed for the last two years, every solstice, in order to hold a cremeony by herself in the wilderness. Sort of a more "pure" dedication to her beliefs.

When she gets to her place in the mountain where she sets up camp, she finds that there is another guy staying at the same camping area. He, like her, is a pagan who wants to worship in a more "pure" way, doing the extreme sports thing like her.

The idea is for the two of them to get together and sort of hold a ritual sex thing during the night of summer solstice. I have a few ideas of my own, but I'm tossing them around and trying to flesh them out. And, as I said, my schedule is pretty full for the next two weeks, so I was hoping to take some time and get some ideas from some of the people on here.

Any suggestions? And please feel free to comment on the storyline itself as well.

good start. you might need to rationalize why she abandons her rituals for his ritual sex, and, if he's into ritual sex on that day, why he's alone atop the mountain

maybe you could make the rituals nudism based, and target the Nude Day contest.

You make a good point. I may cut out the ritual part and just have it come down to an animal attraction between two people who are there for the same reasons.

No - the ritual sex leads to the ordinary screaming ecstacy. There is a ritual that (obviously) neither has been able to perform alone, but they just automatically perform because there are two of them. It means little more than shaking hands - at first ...
