It definetly sucks the wax out of your ears.

I tried it and was amazed at the amount that comes out.

Weather or not its healthy is debatable.

health food stores sell them but as speacial candles, not as ear candles...legalities and such

Isn't the wax from the candle - not from the ear at all?

the story goes:
the candle is hollow, like a drinking straw. you light it and hold it to your ear, and the vacuum created thus pulls out your ear wax safely. and creepily.

Not only a hoax, but a dangerous one.

Google it, then stay away from it.

It is from your ear...you feel really clear headed after...I'm just not sure its a good idea to remove all that so called protective wax
It's not from your ear. It doesn't work. All it does is potentially permanently damage your ear canal. Then you'll be stuck being deaf and dumb.

A Karcher pressure washer is cheaper and does less damage to the ozone layer.

I know people who do this and it does work. You won't catch me doing it. Lighting the cone is enough to keep me away.

It sure looked and felt like it came from the ear but whatever...I don't really care..Always figured it was dangerous though

i only just heard of candling, I won't do it - no need - but a friend swears it works, he had used Q-tips and wax had been shoved deep in his ears. He chose candling over syringe. He's too swift anyway. Y'all just confirmed what my gut was telling me - apart from "mmm sushi"

Sticking anything in my ear doesn't appeal to me. I once put a piece of Leggo in there (some time ago, like years) that had to be tweeezed out - painfully.

What (abnormal) things have you shoved in you body cavities?

There is already a thread for that
