Anyone use one? do the feel right? do they just feel painful?

i had one of those electric muscle messager things like the pic below. i wired it to some brass rings and it did a descent job, but really it just shocked more than anything.


So does the E-stim feel good? how customizable is the sensation? is all the feeling in one location or does it feel like its spread out across two points?

Depending on what you mean by "shocked", it could either be the power box or your electrodes might not be a great choice. If they aren't snug with even contact area then a stinging or zapping sensation not only feels bad, but can burn the skin.

I built a stereo box using some instructions that I found on smartstim. Best $20 that I ever spent. I use silver solder (rosin free) electrodes with great results, but I know a lot of people prefer conductive rubber. I have never used any other kind of power box, but there's tons of advice on that web site and people have success with units like yours. I'd start there.
