e-mail notification

I'd like to not receive an e-mail notification each time a thread to which I've subscribed receives a new post. I've already changed to the no mail notification via the options in the control panel, but I continue to get a zillion e-mails.

I used to get pm notification via e-mail too. I managed to get that to stop but not the thread notification.

Does anyone have a tidbit of knowledge to share with me?

I had a problem with that in the past as well, and I think I had to choose the option so that no board administrators or moderators could send me e-mail either. I think that did the trick.... it has been a while since I did this so I hope it works!

From what I heard if you didn't choose that option when you registered you can't change it despite what the profile options say. It can't be changed now. I think I will try JJs trick though!

Well at the bottom of the screen where you write in your post there is a little box that you can check for email notification. Make sure it's unchecked every time you post. If it's checked it'll send you a reply email.

It's under options on the post reply page and says, "Email Notification: emails sent to you whenever someone replies. Only registered users are eligible. "

Hope that helps...I get way too much mail and post replies are just junk to me.

Thanks... so far no new notifications. I have three messages in my hotmail inbox regarding this thread but nothing since 6:15.

Funny you comment about the name. I've been trying to figure out a different one since IWC was chosen on a whim. Everyone at Lit had taken all the ones I liked or I couldn't get a related hotmail account to go along with it. Guess it has kinda stuck.

Subscribing to a thread is essentially a request for notification e-mails. The only wayI know of to stop (without blocking ALL e-mail from Lit) them is to unsubscribe from the thread.

What I do when I want to stay on top of a thread is put the "First New Post" link for that thread in my Favorites -- under a special folder for threads I want to track.
