I'm such a huge fan of DVDs!!! I love the bloopers, hidden features, commentary tracks...DVDs rule!

And I gotta have widescreen, even though teh black bars bug some people...

All of it. I have both hooked up to my TV so I can switch back and forth, have a 5 disk changer, about 500 VHS and about 50 DVD (so few because I just got my DVD player this Xmas)

Widescreen DVD all the way. I used to be a fan of the full screen movies, but not since we bought a widescreen TV.

Do you ever find yourself regretting buying a DVD after a few months, when a special edition comes out with extra features? I'm still pissed that i bought the Lord of the Rings 2-disc instead of the 4 disc special set.

DVD - Widescreen also.

I have having a part of the movie cut off. And I'm used to the black bars anyways so it doesn't bother me.

DVD Widescreen. I don't even notice the black bars anymore....it's so much better.

He's MY age, dammit! Well, almost.

Romial wouldn't get it though. Now that boy's a toddler! :D

Yup.. a year younger than myself. just wanted to rib him about being only 28

LOL I remember how they had Beta for rent in the video stores.

Widescreen all the way. It preserves the original intent of the film maker and makes the film look more crisp.

If you want to do a interesting little experiment go get one or two films that were shot in a very wide aspect ratio originaly. Some good examples of these films would be Dirty Harry and A Few Good Men since both these films were shot in a 2 point something to 1 aspect ratio(I think it was 2.35:1). Go get a fullscreen copy of one movie and then a widescreen copy of the same movie.

Watch them back to back and notice how different the fullscreen movie looks. Parts of the film will look distorted and there will appear to be many more camera moves then actually took place.

This is because the wide aspect ration film is being compressed into the roughly square aspect ratio of the TV screen. In order for the entire frame of a particular scene to be viewed only half or so of the frame can be shown at one time. This can really make a good movie look very strange.

Ooo ooo, I'm digging the beta xvid. AC3 sound rules, but the picture could use a little work. It is a beta afterall.

Don't be offended if I not only don't use it but ridicule it, as well.

I'm picky about avs.

See if you like any of this...

[show's over. sorry folks]

You had me uh..ready to ridicule 'til the last one.

The others are obvious and completely without artistic merit. The last one is snagged and I'll wear it for a bit. Thanks! =)
