Dubya Ties Tricky Dick for 2nd-Most Despised President

Only a tie? That's surprising. Even the Nixon-hatingest Nixon haters have admitted to some stirrings of nostalgia for the days when we were merely Dicked. I believe it was Garrison Keillor in "Homegrown Democrat" who pointed out that Nixon, were he alive and seeking office in 2004, would have been labeled a liberal.

My buddy used to have a bumper sticker on his '68 Cadillac:

NIXON in '92
Tanned, Rested, and Ready

Ah, but his term isn't over yet. He's still got over a year to surpass Nixon AND Truman :nana:

He's certainly giving it a good shot - and he's not exactly popular outside the US either.

You're all forgetting something.

Amicus loves Bush enough for the rest of us.

That's because they're both devout Christians.

I love Bush three times more than that silly liberal, Amicus.

Bush is number one in my book in everything.

It's interesting that Truman was the most disliked. History has since come to look with a lot more favor on him.

How far back does this go? I mean, for how long has somebody been taking an approval poll?

Insteat of asking, I googled it and found the gallup Poll goes back to FDR. That would make it 75 years, or maybe less.

I'll bet Hoover would have beaten Bush or Truman or Nixon.

Washington had to have had the worst breath of any president. Those teeth.
