Dual sex - Hermaphrodite love

Hello Authors--

I was thinking of writing a story about a character with both bits of equipment. I am not quite sure if this is the right venue for it, or if this sort of story would fall flat.

What category does it go under? It's not really 'gay' but if a man was playing with a dual-sexed person--well, there might be some anal involved for the man. But there's also the girl parts so there would be pussy penetration.

Sci-Fi/Fantasy generally accepts it, although they seem to be favoring the "futanari" variety atm. A bit different. It would also depend on the context, I suppose, if there was a fantastical element at all, depending on how you described it. I am not sure about other categories I could suggest, and SFF isn't one of the bigger-read ones anyway if you are looking for numbers.

Still. Could be fun.

Oh, wait! I edited a story that had that quality, very fantastically written (started with a voodoo curse of sorts with an search to break it), yet the author put it under Transexual & Crossdressers. It was received well there, too, as I recall, they seemed to like it.

I would suggest either Transsexuals/Crossdressers or Sci-fi/Fantasy too. What you're describing sounds similar to the futanari of manga fame, so those stories tend to be in the SF/F category. Neither gets a huge readership, so if your story majored of anal sex, then that might be a better place for it. I think the category system is one of the major weaknesses of Lit, which should focus far more on search and tags (they are there, but they are harder to find).

I did a story about an intersexed woman in a romance with her co-worker, but it was much more sentimental than my usual stuff, and she was a virgin, which was rare for me.

It was called The Real Thing. However, the emphasis here is much more on their relationship than on the fetish per se.

Transsexuals and Crossdressers, for sure. They'll love it there. It's a really nice category in terms of readers. They're probably my favorite to write for,

I would say sci-fi/fantasy works if there's some sort of mad science/alien DNA/dark curse/etc. reason for the person to have both male and female naughty bits. If they were just born that way or whatnot, and especially if nobody thinks it to be unusual, then that's pretty much futanari entirely, and the closest thing to it "real world" are M-to-F transexuals who have done all the treatments and therapies except for the removal of their member. (Futa characters tend to have a fully functional vagina as well, real world hermaphrodites IIRC do have both but neither works very well.) Futa artwork/comics and "chicks with dicks" transexual photos/videos do have a fairly significant following out there.

I've submitted stories like this to the Trans / CD area myself.
Just seemed more appropriate to me, since as was stated before
the Futanari/Hermaphrodite stories tend to end up there more often than not.

I commend to your consideration a few serious enquiries concerning the mental problems of the hermaphrodite. I get the feeling that the real ones have a certain degree of 'excess baggage'.

I guess we've all seen one performing on a porn site in one way or another, but I sympathise with the 'inside brain.'
The condition puts me in mind of an old Flanders & Swann song: 'misalliance'.
