dribble believes the USA must break up into two countries... how would that even be possible?

Sooner or later, Americans will understand it doesn't have to be like this. Unfortunately...we won't be able as a nation to EVER agree to any reasonable solution. That's why I fully support a State's right to break with the nation. We can't fix a problem using a broken system. But an individual state can join with other like-minded states and create a new country...and they can save themselves.

People here criticize me for this belief. I say...show me a better option. Doing nothing yields nothing. I am not much on using prayers. So...at least I put forward a solution that can work.
you've argued for two countries... a breakup of the USA.

how do you imagine the borders of those countries to look, and what about swing states that change from red to blue or vice versa? do they swap countries whenever they change? form a third country with internal arguments from its populace that they want to belong to country A or B or not to secede in the first place?

How about manufacturing and transportation costs...the inevitable logistical issues arising from having to cross a nation's border or borders, problems with what can be moved where because of different country's laws, the increased costs in finding new routes to the coast in order to import/export by well-established shipping routes? sooooo many more problems as well.

All states contain considerable amounts of both liberal and conservative voters (i.e., they are "purple") and only appear blue or red on the electoral map because of the winner-take-all system used by most states in the Electoral College.[3][4] However, the perception of some states as "blue" and some as "red" was reinforced by a degree of partisan stability from election to election — from the 2016 election to the 2020 presidential election, only five states changed "color"; and as of 2020, 35 out of 50 states have voted for the same party in every presidential election since the red-blue terminology was popularized in 2000, with only 15 having swung between the 2000 presidential election and the 2020 election. Although many red states and blue states stay in the same category for long periods, they may also switch from blue to red or from red to blue over time.

I wonder does Dribble understand it has always been this way? The only time of true unity was for a few years after the War of 1812. Didn't stop us from all the many achievements Americans can point to as their own since then.

It's also worth remembering that, just for two examples, one generation ago California was solid red and West Virginia was solid blue. Things change, and they can change fairly quickly sometimes.

Not two countries. Probably 6 to 10 different countries would work well.

Stupid people that refuse to accept the obvious and have no solutions to the problem. Thanks for proving my point. The day any of you come up with a workable solution...we can talk.

Really? Mass murders have always been an issue? Cool.

Want China to take over the U.S.? Because that's how you'll get China to take over the U.S.. There are unfriendly countries that want to see this strategy play out so badly, it's in their wet dreams.

I'm all for creative ideas - but what would this fix? 🤔

That's your fear? That's the best reason you can come up with? Why would the new countries have to have separate militaries?

Did you not see the interview by Newsome last week? Talking about how California's economy is already tied to China?

That's your retort? That's the best response you can come up with: China already has financial interests here, so that shouldn't be factored in?

Because of course we'd have separate militaries. The reality however people have gamed it out and there is no way in hell the Chinese are getting past our Navy and presumably we could count on the west coast to be one nation cus you can't have your navy in Nevada for obvious reasons. This isn't like the movies Red Dawn and its remake! Even someone using something as minor as binoculars or being outside would notice a squadron of planes flying into the heartland.

I believe in equal rights for all Americans. The country as a whole does not. That could be fixed.

I believe certain guns are a problem. The country as a whole does not. That could be fixed.

I believe politics should stay out of the Judicial System. The country as a whole does not. That could be fixed.

I believe in a health care system that worked. The country as a whole does not. That could be fixed.

I believe we are spending more as a country than is sustainable. That could be fixed.

Name any problem...any...that our country can't solve...because we are too big...we have too many social differences...any. and tell me focusing on a smaller geographic region wouldn't potentially solve.

This is not the best solution...the best is a government that works. But it doesn't. Denial of this only kicks the can down the road.

Why. Do all the countries of Europe have separate militaries? Or do they rely on each other?

Small minds think small

We have a Speaker who doesn't believe in science yet you're trying to solve all of our problems on an erotic literature message board.

What is wrong with having the discussion? Making it legal for a State...or states...to leave if they think they would be better off? Why shouldn't the people be given the right to choose?

The UK left the EU. Did the World end? Nope. It would have been a hell of a lot better if it was better planned.

Scotland shouldn't have been given a choice?

What are people afraid of?

Why should a State have to live under tyranny?

America is a great society. All great societies eventually crumble. You can go through the motions of pitching wild ideas in an effort to delay the inevitable, but what you're describing isn't a solution to fix America's problems - it's a fire sale. States leaving the Union would just be fancy dress for the funeral.
