I have been dreaming more and more disturbing things the deeper I dive into this lifestyle. Probably due to the images I see as I explore. What I mean by disturbing isn't necessarily bad but more as questionable or haunting.

Do you dream more?
Are your dreams more intense?
Do you find your dreams taking you to the edge of limits?

I've been having very intense and edgy dreams for several years now. I had them the worst when I was having to deny my inclinations. My first wife was a very closed minded individual, that was when my dreams were the worst and the most extreme and vividly intense. Now my dreams are still intense and kinda edgy in content but not as bad as before. I'm so lucky to have found my Lady. <shrug> So I guess they've gotten milder since I've started actually acting on my desires.

My dreams are very odd, always foggy and very random, but there are a few trends I've noticed. One, that they often try and run in cycles, like something will happen once, a long sequence, and then it'll start all over, except somewhere along the line, something will go wrong, and it will create a completely new ending, except I'm still trying to create the old ending. Also, though I've sometimes tried to kill some people in my dreams (my brother seems to be Dream-Aeroil's favorite), I've never succeeded.

A modernist dreamer?

Hm, also on the killing it seems to emphasise a weakness like a defeatist in the dreams. Possibly a cause of the submissiveness in hopes it makes you stronger (or less futilist). Of course, I'm just bullshitting here but there might be something here you might want to think about.

Anyways, my dreams... hmmm, I think my only dreams that have preturbed me was wgen I was 4-6 years old where everynight there would be this dream that only lasts between 1-5 seconds and it is me being hit. Now, I have been rather indecisibe whether my parents have been abusive or not - right now thinking that they were nowhere near and it seems to be the most probable. So abuse is not the issue, I assure. What is hitting me in these dreams? Anything and everything. Doors opening and hitting me, i'm a baseman and a ball hits me.

It is probably a strong precursor to my fascination with percussive toys in the last few years that has gotten me to recognise this.

As of late it has been a mixture, nothing that hasn't been troubling.

possibly possibly, I dunno and I'm not too concerned with it, I think it's just a manifestitation of my hatred for him and my inability to do anything about it.

Dreams are and can be several things to us: guide to our subconscious, a way for our brain to "cool off" after a hard day, and also as warnings. I fully believe that if you train properly, you can achieve lucid dreaming, a state where you can control your dreams.

If you're dreaming disturbing things, more than likely you're anxious or nervous about something.

Here is some information about disturbing imagery in dreams:

Dagger

Daggers, knives, and swords could represent significant feelings of anger toward yourself and others. If you kill or wound a perceived enemy in your dream, your unconscious mind may be encouraging you to conquer your fears.

Danger

If you are in a dangerous situation in your dream, you may consider this a sign from your unconscious. Take the hint and pay closer attention to your finances, business matters, health, and things in general. If you faced the danger in your dream, it may be a positive sign and an indication that you are capable of overcoming current obstacles.

Murder

If you murder someone in a dream, it is more than likely that the murdered person represents an aspect of yourself that you’d like to see the back of, or perhaps you want to end a relationship of some kind, either personal or professional. Also, the dream could be an indication of childish wish-fulfilment; an unresolved feeling of envy or jealousy left over from your childhood. If you are a witness to a killing, you may be reflecting on changes going on around you that you don't particularly like.

Sex

It is very difficult to name just a few possible interpretations for this dream. It is so complex that interpretations vary with each dreamer and situation in the dream. A sexual dream may be about physical pleasure, but it may also be about power, control, manipulation, virility, and effectiveness. It may be a form of wish fulfilment or a memory, or compensation for a lack in daily life. In most cases, it is not a prediction of things to come in the near future.

Smothering/Strangling/Choking

Dreaming that you are having difficulty breathing and are in danger of dying as a result may carry important messages for the dreamer. This type of a dream experience is usually very frightening, and at times people are awakened from their dream due to the fear. This dream may have several different explanations and the catalysts may be forces from either within the individual’s emotional and psychological makeup or circumstances on the outside of the individual. The suffocation is either due to internal forces or an external situation. The dreamer may experience great difficulties when it comes to free self-expression. They may have difficulties in expressing their fear, anger, love, or any other powerful emotion and are literally choking on them in their dream. Choking in your dream suggests that you are having problems in communicating your thoughts, needs, and feelings. Additionally, smothering may imply that the dreamer cannot accept certain situations in their life and is feeling suffocated by a current problem.

Water

Water’s meaning varies with the details and the mood of the dream. Water is a deeply spiritual symbol representing the water of life or the flow of life. Large bodies of water usually represent our unconscious minds or/and soul experiences. Water symbolises emotions; rough, smooth, clear, murky, etc.

Waterfall

Water generally represents the unconscious and the emotions. A waterfall is a positive dream symbol that suggests a cleansing of negative emotions or psychological issues. Just a simple visualisation or a daydream of standing in a waterfall makes a person feel energised and refreshed. If the waterfall in your dream is overwhelming or too powerful for you to enjoy, it may represent emotional energy and unconscious drives that are very difficult to effectively cope with on the conscious level.

I had a dream the other day of being in a tub of cloudy and Iwas choking because I was under the water hiding from something approaching the room. The I woke up and realized it had started to rain. I really have felt uneasy since dreaming this. After thinking on this dream, I realize that Ihave a lot on my mind now and I need to relax. So I am taking the night off and I am going to spend more time on Lit. Maybe this will help. Being a submissive has its good days and its bad days. Such is life.

I've always had dark and bizarre dreams my whole life, as well as periods of insomnia. Most hyperactive people do, as our brains appear to function a bit differently than others. I've always had intense sexual bdsm-y sort of dreams though. The only difference now is that occasionally people I know here sometimes make cameos. Not always a good thing.

Dammit, I NEVER get sex dreams! especially not BDSM sex dreams :(.

Well, I don't know if its such a cool thing. I mean, for a long time, they scared the snot out of me. They still do. And I can see me meeting some of these sexy peeps someday and embarrassing myself by blurting out "please don't kill me!" or words to that effect. Yeah, that'd be bad. Especially since I know they wouldn't but still... It's a bit unnerving, y'know.

According to what I've read though, you only remember the dreams you have when you cycle through the lighter stages of REM sleep, and most folks only remember dreams if they are woken up during or right after an REM stage. So you may be having pervy delicious dreams but are unable to remember them.

lol.... taunt me even further why don'cha.
I actually can somehow "decide" to remember some dreams, a friend of mine was interested once so I told her I'd try and remember, and I did, for like three nights in a row, which was a streak unheard of.

i had been having two reoccuring dreams for years.

1)
The whole city being evacuated, everyone crossing over the bridge which crosses the river between the town i live in, and the next town.
i'm in the front of the line of all those attempting to cross. As i reach the summit of the bridge, it becomes ridiculously steep. i slide backward, on my belly, into the crowd which follows me & back to the town i live in. I always awaken at this point. (Sometimes in the dream i am flying, and can not land. i always awaken while still flying and not being able to land).

2)
Hundreds of rats (sometimes it's cats though) are jumping at me, attacking me & biting me. In the dream i sense they are wanting to bite my neck and kill me.
To protect myself, i am ripping them from my body, one by one, and snapping their necks in two, as quickly as i can. As fast as i kill them, more appear.
i always wake up without having killed them all.

i can't even count how many times i had experienced those two dreams. i'm just relieved not to have experienced either of them in a long time.

3)
Walking hand in hand down the main street in town, with a very handsome man. We are obviously very much in love, no words are spoken, with many loving glances exchanged between each other, and a few sweet, brief kisses. In the dream i am content and feeling very peaceful at his side, yet it is a bittersweet feeling because somehow it is understood that he can not stay, and must go away for a very long time.

This dream had only occured a few times. i haven't had that dream in well over a year.

i also have dreams where i am very much pissed off at another in the dream. In those, most times, i wake myself up with my own yelling as i tell them off very loudly and with many profanities (i woke Master up, a of couple times, like that). Most times in the dream my mother is the object of my annoyance.

Over the past few months i am not dreaming as often, and they are far less intense when i do. Lately, i just do not always remember the details of the dreams once i awaken.

Quite a few of my dreams are preminitions.

Like I'll dream about something happening, then it will happen --- down to the slightest detail.

Sometimes it's a month before, sometimes years. But I ALWAYS know when the moment hits that I dreamed. It can be freaky.

I dream nightly, and I can pretty much say that most of my dreams have a sexual theme. That wouldn't be so bad, but the dreams I have are always of a force nature. Whether it's with one man/woman or a room full, I am always forced. Some are very violent. I wake from them and my mind is now in overdrive mode...not to mention my body. So I usually lay awake going over and over the dream, trying to figure out what happened and why I feel the way I do.

I do that. And I agree, it's freaky. It was worse when I was a teen. I'd have a dream like that just about weekly, but now it's only occasionally.

What I find interesting, for me, is that some of the dreams that leave me horny aren't actually sexual in nature. And other times they just involve bondage.

What bugs me is that I still have nightmares about school. I graduated 9 years ago, and sometimes I still dream that I can't find my schedule, or I forgot my locker combination, or I skipped a class so many times that I can't remember where the classroom is . . . you get the idea. I guess it's cause I hated school so much.

What was funny, though, was I was having one of those naked dreams recently. You know where no matter how many times you get dressed, you're still naked? Well, that started to happen, and in the dream I looked down at myself, and thought "Oh, I'm having one of those dreams again." and I stopped trying to get dressed, I knew there was no point, I'd just end up naked again. How's that for weird?

I vary rarely remember my dreams. Oh, everybody dreams, but we don't all remember them. The rare times I remember dreams, they are never in very much detail. I can't even tell if I dream in color or black and white.

I do remember when I was much younger, I was really into taking vitamins. If you don't remember your dreams, you are said to be deficient in Vitamin B6. I took megadoses for a while, and my dreams got to be more regular. But, because that is not normal for me, I stopped taking the vitamin.

I was confusing my dreams with reality. I would be talking to someone and then say something like "yeah, but I remember when...oh...um, never mind." If that happens very much, it can get you some pretty strange looks.

I'm perfectly happy not remembering my dreams.

But it is sometimes fun to recall the dreams. I think you should have a lucid dream about Ass fucking DVS and then tell us about it.

I never get erotic dreams (or least none that I can remember) so I am a little jealous of those that do. Most of mine are easily interpretable though. For instance last night I dreamed about a friend of mine that had moved away for the summer for work and my Aunt who passed away last summer. The set up was really weird but the whole dream was interaction with those two people despite the small side cast. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out I am missing them.

Every now and then I get the premonition dreams but they were a lot more common when I was younger or when I am feeling really depressed for some reason. I gotta agree with Jasonlf and Graceanne that they are a little on the freaky side and I'm glad they've become really rare.

In many of my dreams I am fully conscious that I am dreaming and am floating in a grey space with no percievable characteristics.

how do you know they are dreams? maybe it is your spirit and it is actually happening. ;)

Anyone serioulsy interested in understanding their dreams, must read the Don Juan series by Carlos Castanada. It will change your dream life.

Leave it to you to dream you are fog. That hauntingly, erotic mist that hides what one is either seeking or running from.
It is that or a dirt cloud.
(insert sassy frog here....my PDA won't let me add icons)
