I use to work on the fringes of the entertainment industry. (Definitely not an insider though.)

The time I spent in L.A. was seriously depressing. There were so many young, beautiful girls everywhere who really wanted to be in the movies--any movie. The reality is that most porn flicks are filmed with the cheapest help they can hire. And if it's $50 on the street corner, a day's pay isn't much more in the studio. And a lot of your competition is giving away free samples to anyone they think might get them a role. I suppose the "porn star" fantasy isn't too crazy since that's pretty much a voluntary occupation and you can sort of control what you do. I think there needs to be a literotica community crowd-sourced porno... there's certainly enough wanna-be porn writers, actors, cinematographers on the forum. This is a great fantasy that doesn't translate well to reality, IMHO.
