I was one of the lucky ones to meet and post with Sienna when she first came to LIT.
I asked her way back then if I could work up a drawing from one of her stunning pictures.
Alas we drifted apart for a while and it has only been in the last month that we've been back in touch. I immediately raised the issue of a drawing to which she graciously agreed.
Nothing can match her extraordinary good looks
but here is my humble effort.

The drawing is done on graphite and the orignal is
approximently 12x16 inches.

Thanks Sie, it was a joy.

Bravo, Ariosto!

The model and artist are both.....Excellent...Simply...Excellent!

Lovely drawing

Sienna is a fine example of the feminine form and i'm sure you had a lot of fun staring intently at her picture...

I'd be proud of that, if I were you

ariosto! - what can I say? - You have captured something in that drawing that isn't there in the original photograph we sent you. It's incredible. The drawing itself expresses everything about her. Her looks and her feelings seem to leap out at you. Also I noticed the way your drawing captures the look she had in some of her earlier photographs, like the one we sent to you when she was 14 years old.

I don't know why, but there is something mysterious about paintings and drawings that photographs don't reveal.

It may as Sie explained, be something to do with a connection of human souls between model and artists. Afterall, photographs only capture the image as it is in nature, not the soul behind the subject.

Whatever it is - you'r drawing says more than the photograph. You are indeed a natural born artist.

Thank you so much...

Tony & Sienna.

Thank you all!
Tony and Sienna the praise coming from you is particularly welcome for obvious reasons.
All artists in the final instant feel self doubt and want to keep fiddling on and on. At some point you say what the hell and let it go.
I am glad you see so much in the picture.
I agree that a drawing is an intimate subjective thing that is not always present in photo's.
The picture of Sienna at 14 is unbelievable.
I have already strated sketching from that one.
Perhaps when I bring my daughter to the UK, I can convince you to sit for a real portrait Sie, not from photo's at all.
I'd be delighted.

Wow...

A true artist among us....*bows* Beautiful work Ariosto! And of course, a gorgeous model to glean your art from...

I agree 100% with Tony.........You did cature sooooo much more than the photo did. She seems to leap out at you with her eyes. The look in them is incredible and the detail is fenominal!

Absolutely stunning. You are a remarkable artist and Sienna is a terrific model. Now it makes me wonder what the original picture looked like.

Aristo,

that is a great pic! I am very impressed with it. Certainly it was always going to be a good pic with Sienna as the subject matter!!!

Good stuff!

DM

Bravo

You have captured a real work of art in your drawing!

Simply beautiful, both the artwork and the model. I agree something just seems more real about a drawing or painting than a photo. Maybe it is about captureing a part of the soul and putting it into the work of art. I've yet to achieve that ability, but if I had a model I'd try my best, and maybe in time I could create a peice of work as wonderful as this.

I sure wish I could draw as great as you. But sorry to say, I have a hard time drawing stick figures right. :(

Amazing!!!!

You are very lucky to have such a wonderful talent! :) She is beautiful...

I wanted to get this to Ariosto

Ariosto, I sent you a PM, but could not attach a photo. That should be changed, but I'll live with the rules for now. Anyway, thought you would enjoy the art and the artist.
