Dragons!

I'm born in the year of the dragon, according to the Chinese calender.

My zodiac is unpleasant.

Cancer, born in the year of the rat. I'm the black plague . . . :(

I was watching Animal Planet last night (I know, I'm a geek), and a commercial came on for an upcoming special they're showing in May. I was actually interested enough to go to the website they specified.....I can't wait to see this! It looks like it will be very nicely done: Dragons Are Coming!

edited to add: oops! I think it's showing in March, not May. Sorry!

I wonder why you were so interested in this.

Hey! I'm popular again. :D

Seriously, when I watched the previews some statments were made that I have been saying for years. For instance, the fact that practically every culture in the world has legends about dragons predating contact with other cultures. The Alaskan Inuit, the Aztecs, the Egyptians, The Norse, all through Europe, China, Japan... ANd they just coincidentally thought up the same creature on their own?

I am dying to see this show and have plans to record it. And then I might spend the rest of the night teaching a certain Warrior Woman the finer points of the dragon Mating ritual. ;D

Humans tend to forget the magical beasts of the world from time to time. But how quickly they jump to attention when reminded. :)

Have you ever read "Good Omens" my Gaiman and Pratchett (sp?)? Camels are magical creatures! Sort of . . .

I could be wrong, but you might be thinking of camel toes...

Actually, I'm also thinking of a different book besides Good Omens . . . something from his fantasy series. I'm not thinking clearly tonight. :(

Twin dragon, if I recall correctly....:D

TWIN dragon???

Me, I'm a Dragon Aries. Both are fire signs, which explains why I'm such a hottie.

Coincidentally, neither sign is known for being particularly humble.

I think svenska has got it....I think it's pramids though I haven't read it in aggggggeess!

Hmm. I only have about a dozen dragon models and tend to veer away from the popular concept of oviporous lizards.

I like to believe them to bare living offspring which would make them more like bats than birds. Lizards with wings just sounds kinda stoopid.

As for all cultures having similar myths parallel ideas isn't hard to believe not-with-standing that we all came from the same country originally.

I'm double sheepy ... Sign of the Ram, Year of the Sheep.

But speaking of dragons, my only poem on here, "Offering," is about a dragon.
