I place my tiara back on my head, giving the kender as stern a glance as I can manage. Not that I have anything against them, quite the opposite, they tend to make me laugh---if they aren't making off with my belongings.
"I don't think you should be back here. Terzan doesn't like others back here before I go to perform. Why don't you go back out and find yourself a seat for my performance?" I think a moment, then add, "Or perhaps you could stand on a table?" I turn away, smiling to myself a moment, then regaining my composure, I shoo the kender back out toward the common room, and let out a breath as Terzan calls me out. I step from behind the curtain, holding my head high, and smiling for the crowd. Crowds like happy entertainers much better, after all. I get a better look at the crowd as I step on the stage to the audience's polite, but restrained applause. Terzan sat to the side, along with a red-haired barmaid of his named Leeara, a buxom young human woman who played the flute, which complemented Terzan's lute. I stood in the middle of the stage and kept my smile on, picking out a few faces in the crowd and preparing for my first dance.
Halia leaned against the bar, instinctivly she had chosen a spot were she could see most of the inn and its patrons.
she smiled slightly to herself as she realised what she had done, "too many nasty surprise'll make just about any body a little wary but do you really think a solamnic is gonna jump you girl?" she muttered under her breath
this evening promised to be amusing at least, there was the elven singer on stage - pretty thing, she'd better hope no-one in the audience got the same idea although the lute player looked as if he might be able to defend her honour.
And just what was an elf - and a full blooded one at that by the look of her - doing singing in a tavern full of humans,
Ah there was the Kender she'd spotted earlier slipping behind stage, pretty miraculously he had emerged unscathed and without a full bevy of angry people demanding their purses cut back out of the lightfingered kenders skin.
Halia settle dback to enjoy the show
Unfortunetly, the kender chose her to sit next to.
"Hi, I'm Tas. Nice to meet you!" He extended his hand to be shooken, which it wasn't. "DO you come here often? I love watching her perform. It reminds me of the stories Caramon told me about Tika dancing at the piggs inn. It's right here, I can show you!" Tasslehoff completely ignored her reaction and pulled out a slew of mapps. He looked through a couple, muttering a few things here and there "hmmm, that's where flint died. Poor flint. That's where berem's village used to be, just outside of neraka, though neraka didn't exist back then. that's mt. nevermind where I broke the dragonorb, Ah. Here it is!" Tas pointed to a spot on a map, looking up hopefully to see a positive reaction.
Crysania entered the tavern a cloaked figure with a very feminine figure. She kept her face hidden though because everytime it was shown men bothered her constantly and disliked their attention. She wished sometimes she could meet a man who didn't care about her looks but liked her for who she was. Tough luck there, sighing softly she walked to the back of the tavern to a small vacant table. She ordered a drink then leaned back against the chair surveying the tavern.
"hello little kender, no I don't come here often, I don't know about caramon and a pigs inn and"
(holding up one hand)
"I don't want to know. As a matter of fact i'd quite like to listen to this performer so no stories
(she smiles)
"for now anyway. If you're very quiet maybe I'll swap tales with you later"
("after all I hardly want to spend time with solamnics" she muttered under her breath)
I seem to have two log ins - confused as to how this happened but please if you see posts form riab or petrel it is the same person honest. I wil try and resolve the matter and expect to be using petrel as my username
PS were is everyone?
Classes and school are starting. Summer is ending. The pools are shut down. it's closing time, you don't have to go home but you can't stay here! oops, that's a song, but the analogy is still sound
Literotica allways dies down around this time. Plus, it's not the first time we tried a dragonlance thread. It's just not the top of people's priority list.
as soon as I get somewhere with Final Fantasy rpg, I'll probably dissapear again. I'll try to hold out untill I reach 1000 posts but you never know.
OOC thank goodness its seasonal or I would feel bad about the fact that Life kind of took off w out me...Im back for awhile..at least until my schedule changes.

Nuit leaned heavily upon his staff. not to long ago he had been an athelete and a youth drunk on life. But as it comes for us all...the choice came and when it came down to pulling coins out of kids ears at parties or tasteing true power his soul new the answer before his mind caught on. He passed the test. But the horrors of knowing his true self, of knowing just what he was willing to do to survive...The shame of coming home with robes of blood red unlike the chaste warm white robes that he had been raised with. He was a traveller now. Until such time as he could make his name and fortune ...he looked at his meager finances and stepped up to the bar..."How much for a plate of food and some mulled wine?"
halia smiled absently at the little kender beside her whilst equally absently removing his hand form her pouches. Not that there was anything particularly valuable in those ones but it never hurt to keep in practise. Most of her attention was on the redrobed mage standing at the bar, he seemed to be alone and not very healthy. She hoped that he would get some food and get out in peace without provoking any knights. there again he was redrobed and young - a white robe would be better accepted but at least he wasn't wearing the black. Her mind wandered off into idle musings about how white robed wizards kept their robes clean, was it some form of ranking to show how snowy white your robes were. Hse'd seen several high ranking white robed mages never seem to get a speck of dirt anywhere.
I grimaced as I payed 2 steel for the meal and another steel for the wine, at these prices Id be sleeping on the street tonight. I looked across the Bar and tried not to look like a target. My eyes roamed looking for a place to sit so I could eat the first warm meal I would enjoy in weeks.
OOC: If you'll have me I'd like to join, and Cryo is right on the button regarding people going back to school and all of that, I've been pretty busy myself and just now really cemented my schedule for the next couple of months.
Name: Galen Deathbane
Race: Human
Class: Knight of the Crown
Age: 21
Ht/Wt: 6'0"/ 230 lbs.
Weapon/Armor: Long sword and a couple of daggers/ Plain chainmail with Surcoat and a medium sized iron shield.
Bio: Galen had been born into the Knight's by virtue of his fathers heritage. His father was the youngest of 5 boys, and joined the army. He eventually made it into the knights and thus his son had the right too.
Galen had grown up with warfare and fighting from the moment he was born since he lived with his mother on the frontier along with his father, though he only saw him once a fortnight. Eventually he grew old enough to be squired to a knight back at the castle of Solamnia and he had eventually grown and attained his rank of Knight of the Crown.
He was not spectacular at fighting but not bad either, and could hold his own with most opponents.
Carring a long-bladed axe,bow strapped across his back and a quiver of arrows around his waist.Wearing supple leather breeches, shirt, boots and a cloak.
He seems to have an air of mystery about him. I close the door behind me quickly it seems to be getting cold outside. Silently walking to the back of the tavern to a dimmly lit corner table where a cloaked figure sits. "May I join you Lady Crysania?"
Ettien could find no table, the crowd was to dense and he had no talent for charm anymore. His spirit was shattered in a way his body never could be. The price, the price for the magic. Ettien had been given what all people wish for but what no one should be cursed with. Ettien saw the future. Ettien knew the means of his death, and the age at which he would expire. Ettien was made a pawn of fate, and for the magic he was but a twig now in the river of time. Ettien leaned against the bar and quietly. his pale eyes scanned a half elf looking at him, but she meant no malice and so he nodded to her and tried not to look as out of place as he felt. His visons came only with enough time to tell his course never with enough time to give him solace or to save him. What do the gods want with me, what does Gilean want with me? Lunitari be merciful...just maybe if I fullfill my destiny perhaps I'll be free from this curse.
Galen had just gotten back from patrol not long ago. After saddling his horse he had reported in too his commander. Afterwards he decided to head into the town and stop at the tavern for an ale and some food.
As he reached the door he heard the noise and cursed the luck he had on getting back late that day. Striding in he looked around for a few moments, more from habit than anything else. "Quite a few patrons, including an elf, a kender, and a mage, interesting." he thought to himself. Shrugging his massive shoulders he made his way to the bar, which only had an open space by the mage. Once there he nodded his head warily at the mage and murmered "Excuse me Magus" as he then ordered some stew and an ale. Turning around he looked at the stage and wondered who was performing tonight...
A tall young Knight strides his way through the crowd. I wince to myself as I realize that most knights are distrustful of magic especially those who dont wear the white robes. He pardons himself as he passes and orders the stew and some ale. He is much more polite then I would have expected and I catch myself beliveing the stories of chivalrous Knights.. I look about the crowd and am curios what fate has in store for me tonight and why with such an eclectic mix. The Knight scans the stage for the entertainment and I volunteer the information for him "Tonight is an elf maiden by the name of Seulanna, A full elf this far from home and entertaining is a rarity indeed."
Ettien nodded at the rangers invitation and moved over to the chair by her and the kender. It wasnt that he had anything to lose. he had no belongings of any real value, his spell componenets would do the kender more harm than help and a place to sit was inviting enough. "Thank you " he said bowing low before he sat.
At the mages words Galen's eyebrows had shot up in appreciation at what he had said. Just then the mage had wandered off to a table where the Kender was sitting along with what looked like a Ranger. Pursing his lips together Galen turned back to the counter to get his stew. "I'll have to eat standing tonight, oh well." he thought as he ate the fairly good stew.
Looking to his left he asked another patron when the show was going to happen. The patron just replied that it would be soon. Grunting Galen finished the bowl and ordered another while nodding to a couple of fellow knights in the crowded bar. Leaning back against the bar he wondered how beautiful this elf maiden would be, afterall it was said that those who danced could entrance a strong man and doom the soul of a weak man.
"you are welcome mage"
Halia replied to the mages quiet thank you
" - its a long night and a crowded bar to be standing on your own - and you looked like you could you a seat for a while - allow me to introduce myself - Hlaia westron - and no I don't expect you to talk to me - its just polite to know who you may be ignoring!
The kender isn't with me but if he steals anyhting from you I'll deal with it"
She turned her attention to the stage not waiting to see if the mage would rebuff her - she knew that often enough privacy was more valuable than food or sleep.
Galen was growing agitated, things just didn't feel right. The entertainment here in the tavern was never, ever late. Especially when you had something as amazing as an elf maiden. Leaning over the bar he whispered to the bar tender "What's going on? Where's the Lady Elf?" the man just shrugged his shoulders in reply. Cursing lightly Galen stood back up straight and placing his hand lightly on his sword made his way slowly back to the entrance to the stage...
Ettien was warmed by the kindness he had been alone since the test. The Kender was bright eyed and the Ranger was alert and intelligent. Ettien sensed no evil intent from either. "Ettien Nuit of Sanction. I do many things but i dont ignore knowledge. to ignore a seasoned ranger would be folly indeed."
