Today is Dr. Seuss' birthday. He is one of my very favorite humans. :)
There's a link to the full article below.

"It has often been said
there's so much to be read,
you never can cram
all those words in your head.

So the writer who breeds
more words than he needs
is making a chore
for the reader who reads.

That's why my belief is
the briefer the brief is,
the greater the sigh
of the reader's relief is."

During World War 2 our Dr. Seuss drew racist cartoons of Japs with buck teeth, thick glasses, and the rest. So solly.

So fucking what? Have you ever shot anything other then your mouth off?

Soldiers don't shoot and kill people they kill, depending on the time and place, japs, krouts, jerrys, dinks, gooks, slopes or rag heads or what ever they are called today by the shooters in what ever place they are. You don't kill people you kill things. It makes what you are doing a little bit easier.

The first time I was involved in killing the enemy I was half sick to my stomach and that was at long range. The more you kill the less reaction at least for me.

A year or so later I was much more on the pointy end of the spear and the first motherfucker I killed was shooting at me and my men. Not a nickles worth of remorse. Just one more dead ass hole that was never again going to try to kill me or my men.

The less human you can make the enemy the easier it is for the FNG to shoot the SOB.

You should not apply todays standards to things that happened a long time ago. Yes, you may say they were wrong but you have to understand the mind set of most people during those times. The beliefs, standards and reasons why those actions were taken should play an important roll in your judgments.

What Dr. Seuss did was considered patriotic at the time. What he did does not make him less a fount of knowledge or wisdom.
