Downloading Stories?

Okay, someone messaged me about downloading audio stories and saving them to their PC.

I've never downloaded any, but try <right-mouse> clicking the link and select <save target as>.

I thought they meant downloading stories from Lit. I haven't used "Sound Forge" in a while.... maybe I'll look at it again.

i meant audio, the audio stories, how can i get them offline, i mean when not connected

I just did two. The first one the story downloaded, but the audio didn't work. The second one - Adult Bookstore Antics- worked. It's a real player file and it did open.

I did a <right mouse click> on the link and selected <save target as>. I put the file on my desktop.........

Did it save the whole file or is it just a shortcut?
Usually real audio files just download a shortcut that cannot be played back when offline. AFAIK

You're right, it was only a shortcut. I've saved other audio files (not from lit) and they work offline.

It's a fairly straight forward program with a help menu to answer most of your questions.

the only problem I had was figuring out how to specify the location to open and record.

What I finally did was to open an audio story and use right click to "copy shortcut" on the "listen to this story" link -- http://english.literotica.com:81/audio/2004/sound_2004_12/brotherly.ram -- and pasted it into the "open location" dialogue in the program. Then with the record "button" depressed I clicked "play" and it played the file just as relaudio would and recorded it as it played -- creating a wave file with the same name as the RAM file.

listen to online, so i wanted to record, after i put in the location
address, at the bottom of the screen, it tell me it's connecting ,then
after about 1 min, it gives me this massage. (realaudio client error,
severity=3, RMAcode=8*0040047 and it shows me the location address and
tells me unkown error, please help, anyway, i don't know what to do,

I just tried it and it worked fine.
What operating system and what browser are you using?
Will try some other things ok.

Try this.
Open the recorder program.

Go to the page with the link to the audio story.

Right click on story link.

If you are using internet explorer click on "copy shortcut"

If you are using mozilla click on "copy link location"

If you are using opera click on "copy link address"

Go back to recorder program and "paste" into the "location" box.

Open the play menu at the top, make sure "record" is ticked and then press play.

Once it is finished you should have a wav recording in the recorder programs folder.

Are you using RealPlayer 5 or later? If not, update your RealPlayer so the recorder has the proper files to borrow from RealPlayer to decode the audio you're downloading.

It might not hurt to update your RealPlayer to the latest version even if you're using a version that will play the stories.
