My sister has dial up on her work computer and she's been trying to download some new updates, but they take like 4 hours. Everytime she gets close to finishing, her computer times out. I told her she needed a download manager, but her boss is unwilling to pay for one.

i know there are some great free ones, but when i went to look for one, there were tons. i knew just who to turn to.

Are there any great free ones? Is so, where are they and what are they called.

Thank you in advance for your help, oh wise ones.

A google search or a search on TwoCows should find a whole list of them but I've heard most about Download Accelerator and GetRight. Most good, some so-so, some bad, YMMV.

Free Download Manager works really good.

Most download manager is spyware, so beware!
