Dave sat and watched Becca in the dim glow of the interior light as she weighed up his offer. He didn't really know why he was bothering to go through with the charade. She was on her own, in his car, miles from anywhere. And the warehouse where he intended to leave her, if not tonight then sometime soon, was nearby.
She smiled at him, not so much acceptance, he thought, as just more prevarication. Sex for an A. Jesus Christ, girl. What's the big deal? What part of this basic transaction don't you understand?
It was a warm night. Dave opened the door and went round to Becca's side before doing the same.
"In the back," he said, taking her hand. "Let's see if you're worth an A."
