I decided to try to work up to this with my fb. He's good and relatively open minded, but pretty vanilla and young.

I don't think it's a major leap from toys to a strap-on. Technically the only difference is the strap as opposed to your hands holding onto the toy.

It might be more of a leap of faith from the finger to the toy actually, but then I think the idea of demonstrating on yourself prior to and showing him how much you love it would be an excellent incentive.

If you mean double ended dildos where a cock-head is on both ends then yes, we've tried a few and loved them.
