dot rar files?

Does anyone know how to "play" those .rar files, like the ones from the newsgroups?
I wanted to try one. It's name is "betty.part1.rar" yEnc format
I downloaded it in about 5 parts, about 500mb each.
But how do I uncompress/play it?

I have Xnews, which uncompresses yEnc and pics ok, but never tried movies before. Just want to get up on the latest technology.
Anyone know about these?

RAR is a compression format, just like ZIP files.

download WinRar...its what I use. its shareware so you'll get a nag screen but it works well and doesn't ever really have to be purchased.

Lots of other utilities out there too for the same thing. WinRar can do most compression formats, like .zip

usually in multiple part RAR files, there's a first file that's a 'trigger', so as long as all 5 .rar are in the same directory, when you decompress the first file, it should decompress the rest and rebuild the single original file.

Its very common to get 200 1.44meg .rar files that all un-zip to one CD sized .avi/.mpg file

But when I click on my files to open them, it says they are damaged or something.

I tried WinAce Archiver also (Because sometimes, size DOES matter!)(Their catch phrase
It just analyses and doesn't seem to do anything else.

If it says it is damaged, it is.
It will be unusable. Try redownloading it, if it says the same, the file is probably corrupted.

Another possibility is that you are missing a file. A lot of times .rar files are split up into pieces so make sure you have all of the pieces to the file. But since the file you are looking at ends in .rar it probably isnt the case since if they are split they usually end in something like .r01 or something like that.

If it's damaged you can't use it. Happens every now and then.

Also, from one RAR-dummy to the next ( ) you need to know (I didn't at first) that you receive a movie or movie-clip in parts, but you only need to un-RAR the first one and that first file will automatically add the rest (because they are linked or so) and create one new file (like AVI or so). I thought first I needed to un-RAR all the RAR-files one by one. Maybe you figured that out already... just wanted to share my skills with you just in case

yeah if all the files say they are damaged...then they are. they're corrupted, and since ti's just porn, not worth trying to repair.

WinACE, yeah I had that one too, for some crappy .ace compressed files.

Each "Part" had 4 or 5 downloads of 50000 size?
I downloaded each of them, but each of the four movie "Parts" was about 507KB, and I expected them to be about 4 or 5 times that size.

See the attached for Betty and why I wanted to see what she was doing with that thing!

Download Quickpar and click on any of the par2 files. It will tell you if any of the rar files are missing/damaged. If there aren't enough par2 files to rebuild or repair the rar files then you will have to go back to the group you downloaded it from and find the rest of the post. (It's possible that some of the post has expired on your private server)

If quickpar says everything is there then you are ready to go. Open the first rar file wth winrar and unpack it. Winrar will combine the series of archived rar files to create your giant violating dildo movie.
