Raise your hand if you’ve ever been personally victimized by the Estonian/Vikkel/Lateral braid ✋🏼

But here I am anyway, persevering despite the hiccup on the right. It’s called personality, okkkkk?

So far I’ve learned the Turkish cast on, how to M1L and M1R, and now this forsaken braid. Next I fear is charting and cabling 🫣.

This is the Somerset sock pattern from my 52 Weeks of Socks book which will surely take me 52 years to get through. Especially considering I’ve already caught one mistake in the written pattern, I almost rationalized having 128 total stitches on the round for a sock 😭 y’know, cause surely cabling calls for that 🙄

Anyway. Happy Monday everyoneeeee 👋🏼

Frick this sock pattern - temporarily.

Going way back to basics because I was just making so many mistakes, here’s where we’re at with a crazy sock lady simple sock pattern using bamboo/acrylic mix.

I don’t know whose skinny calf is squeezing in these, but isn’t the yarn just sooooo berries and cream coded? 🥣🍓

And just like that, three pairs done 🥳. I still have to wash and block the new pair, but when can I ever wait to share 🤭

Working with bamboo was different and although not my first choice, I’d knit up another pair of vanilla socks with it again. In other knit-worthy news, the nurses all loved the rainbow pair and my sisters been wearing them all week while she’s been recovering.

They’re a bit rough for wear and there’s a tiny hole where I joined the purple toe yarn, so I’ll put them somewhere safe until I’m in a mending mood… for now, I’m restarting on #51 out of 52 Weeks of Socks using a merino/nylon yarn in a grey/blue/silver tone. I’m going to spend time working up a swatch on the cabling to practice before starting the toe-up construction this time, because frick all that 🙄

Slow and steady… slow and steadyyyyyy… 😋
