George Clooney has a play opening on Broadway called Good Night, and Good Luck. It’s about the battle between newsman Edward R Murrow and shitty Senator Joseph McCarthy.

60 Minutes did a piece about Clooney and the play, which enraged Trump because it highlights the importance of freedom of the press in a battle against authoritarianism and government overreach.

Donald Trump criticises George Clooney as ‘second-rate movie star and failed political pundit’

Clooney drew parallels between the events Good Night, and Good Luck dramatises and the difficulties faced by reporters in pursuit of truth today. The actor cited Trump’s $16m recent defamation settlement with ABC News, as well as the $20bn “voter interference” suit Trump filed against CBS last October in which he claimed 60 Minutes had “deceptively edited” an interview with his rival, Kamala Harris, to present her in a more flattering light.

As always, Trump reacted like a petulant 4-year-old. 😆

Trump took to Truth Social to combat Clooney’s arguments, and to offer a broadside against the show.

“Why would the now highly discredited 60 Minutes be doing a total ‘puff piece’ on George Clooney, a second-rate movie ‘star’ and failed political pundit,” wrote Trump.

Clooney doesn't bend the knee to dear leader

trump takes advice from the likes of Conner McGreger and Kane West. Like the three stooges.

Celebrities do not really have the illusion that they know more than anyone else about public affairs.

What celebrities think is that people will listen to them.

And they're right. If millions of people who will never meet you are going to pay attention to your sex life, they will also pay attention to your politics, if you have any.

Why would the highly discredited Truth Social platform publicise a second-rate 'scripted reality star' and failed president with more impeachments than have ever been seen before?

Trump might well be the only person living who does not see Murrow as the hero, and McCarthy the villain, of that conflict.

Well, maybe Rightguide too.

Because that failed president owns Truth Social.

Journalists who want press freedom have mostly left corporate media such as CBS.

So the 'journalists' who work for Faux and GatewayPundit don't want freedom.

Are they even journalists?
Tucker left Fox. Maybe more will leave later, or Fox may resume journalism to keep an audience. Fox News could merge with Fox Sports as cable TV loses viewers. I haven't noticed GP much. It could be on the borderline of big enough to count as corporate media.
