Read some good postings here about ‘sub space’….. I would love to get a sense of ‘ dom space’ if such a thing has a place for discussion.

I think it could be a very interesting topic, but you might need to elaborate a bit.

People talk about sub space meaning anything from having a physical reaction to the endorphines after intense play to feeling submissive around their dominant, so when you mention ”dom space”, I’m not dure if you want to discuss the headspace you are in or the reactions to play or something else entirely.

I’m understanding how serotonin and endorphins can flood in for a submissive state relating to trust and laying down control…. I understand this from my own limited experience. I suppose I was wondering how this might work in a ‘Dom space’ for example adrenalin or a testosterone peaks bringing intensity and sharpness … an alternative change of awareness and excitement. I’m not sure if this is well explained but maybe that points in a certain direction.

I don’t know about “dom space”. I have noticed that whenever I have to punish my husband for something serious. I get very turned on while using the shower brush.

I also get lost in watching his body as he’s marked.

Punishment isn’t supposed to be sexual (for him) but I get so turned on that I have to lock myself in the bathroom with my PalmPowre and take care of myself.

It scares me, a little.

Yes, there can be a floaty, spaced out feeling - an endorphine high. It doesn’t necessarily relate to submission and it’s a very bad substitute for trust, but it can definitely lower your defenses and make you more…pliable.
I think it is dramatised and played up a lot at times, but it is well worth being aware of.

At times the chemicals leaving the body later on can cause what is called subdrop.
Also something to be aware of, because it can make you feel really shitty.

Adrenaline has a huge impact on mood too and in my experience it plays a role on both the D and the s side of the slash, especially with things that feel risky or are fear based.
Adrenaline tends to be less about spacey and fuzzy though and more about hightened senses and sharpness.
It can make you overextend yourself and the drop when coming down from the high can be a bitch too.

In general, I think it is a good idea to be aware and prepared that intense experiences can have an effect on you, both at the time and later.
