The Thread Formerlly known as "Dolcett"

I'm a bit of a fan of his/her work. Anyone else?

Or do you find it just makes you physically ill to think that this twisted individual isn't locked up?

He is sort of like the Caligula of comics.

Dolcett is an extremely twisted person.

But to judge by all the stuff I have seen of his over the years on the newsgroups and on places like the necrobabes website, he/she is far more popular than I would have imagined.

Some of what I have seen shows a wicked sense of humor that is not afraid to poke fun at conventional mores.

Not really to my taste though.

Whew.

Twisted isn't the word for Dolcett. I have long been a closet erotic comics fan, but when I see his name on something I skip it.

Ugh.

The BBQ women alive guy?

His drawings are sensual and very artistic but the subject matter is serial killer masturbation material.

Pity.

Mmmmm -

Yes.

Beautiful women on women, mischievous expressions, naughty deeds.

Lots of bondage, strap-on play, a little spanking, surprised cuckolded hubbies -

Quite a bit more fun than Dolcett!

(And as you can tell, I'm a closet toon erotica fan myself!)

I would almost be willing to bet you are a van gotha fan too :)

Yes, I buy comics, too.!

It's a bit difficult to keep 'em separate from my husband's X-Men series, but I do it!

;)

(And yes, Colly, I do enjoy van gotha. I like the toon sex where the characters are robust, earthy, sensual, yet very depraved. I don't like the ultra-thin, tightly bound, tit-torturing, overtly cruel kind. Gimme lusty comic people having terrific sex!)

Big comics fan, here. Dolcett is groovy.

LOL!

Now THAT makes no fucking sense to me.

You are offended by the implication of God not being in the workplace, yet you enjoy reading about women being bound, forcefully raped, then spitted, roasted alive, and eaten?

I'm a little deeper than some might think. The grotequery is sort of... I don't know... fascinating. I'm entertained by it, to some extent, but moreso I'm entertained by my own reactions to it.

I think the fascination may be akin to slowing down to check out victims at the scene of an accident?

For non-Dolcett erotic cartoons, and some pretty good ones depending on your server, try the newsgroups.

Try any of the following newsgroups.

alt.binaries.erotica.cartoons

alt.binaries.pictures.erotica.cartoons

alt.binaries.pictures.erotica.cartoons.moderated

alt.binaries.pictures.erotica.cartoons.original-art

I appreciate Joe's willingness to admit his interest as opposed to the typical "Eeeewwwww, that's not what I was brought up to believe was proper" conformist response.

It's not the literal imagery that has the impact on me personally, so much as the boldness to delve into the unknown.

(Edit: the post kind of went on from here, but I decided there was no real way to word it so that it made sense and not offend others in the process.)

I would enjoy seeing his work

in another context.

The drawings are very erotic. And they are beautifully done. (Even when the women are being hanged or gutted.)

I just have a great deal of difficulty getting past the horror aspect.

:)

(And I've never been called a conformist.)

I respect your opinion, Sarah. Thank you for it, in fact.

Dolcett is not for many, and I can certainly view it from your perspective. What blows my mind is that the artist has an actual distaste for his/(her) own work! The strips are not created from Dolcett's imagination, but are supposed requests from the female characters frequently involved in the scenarios he/(she) composes! I would be lying to say that though I don't personally wish to be spitted or hung, the taboo aspect doesn't maintain a great deal of appeal on its own.

I would reccomend Eros comics, if you are looking to purchace some.

Dolcett has carved (pardon the pun) a niche for himself in a very crowded genre. I don't find any erotic attachment to death. On technical merit, he has ability. His subject matter isn't for me, but then again that goes for a lot of artists who are more main stream. If you find Dolcett fasscinating have you seen any of Fumontti's stuff? The subject matter is usually in a similar vein, but the style is a lot different.
