Picked up a story I last worked on, say a little over a year or so ago...needed a change from the new story I'm working on. So maybe I worked on it 20 or so hours, touched it up, and then discovered...it was an older copy of the story I had made...The most recent copy had most of the touching up, and changes already done.

Feed them both into an AI, asking it to consolidate them. It would be very interesting to see what it came up with. Not for publication, of course. Just to see how stupid AI really is. 🤭

I was going over a story draft to see how much I have left to write of it. 6k words, must be a good chunk of the story in there, right?

It's actually the start of the story told in 3 different 2000-word sections, plus a few bullet points and a paragraph of conclusion. There's actually another document with the story start in a couple worse ways, so I suppose this is an improvement. I hope fans of Bradley in the I Say Ass, You Say Arse series weren't hoping for another installment any time soon...

Got a fair few similar docs. One I've tidied up to avoid duplications, but the guys in it are now demanding novel-length coverage.

The Rolling Stones were right. It's a drag getting old. Beats the alternative, though, of course.

I haven't had that experience, YET, but I've done similar things. Gotten a half hour into a movie before realizing I'd seen it before. When I was younger, I had a pretty good memory for things like stories. Maybe my brain is just filling up.
